Urban75 Album of the Year 2022 - The Results

Along with many other albums, I listened to it once and quite liked it but have yet to listen again and decide whether I like it more.

I have to say, nothing this year has reached in and squeezed my heart. Lots of stuff I've enjoyed, nothing much that's really imprinted on me. Suspect the problem is me, I have felt disconnected/disassociated through much of the year in general :hmm:
I've been dead inside all year and found loads I've loved - tbf I think it's been how I've dragged myself through tho

you've got alice glass twice at 99 there too, dunno if that needs a revision or a removal

Probably. I wasn't expecting to be quizzed on the top 100.

Actually that second one shouldn't be there. Weird copy and paste error.

Try this again.

Blimey, I had forgotten that she had a new album out as well. Have now tried that Fontaines album, it's alright but can't say it hugely grabs me.

I've listened to it twice now. It's got a certain vibe and maybe there's something to the lyrics but there's nothing spectacular about it. But then you don't always need spectacular.

Wow - I missed this. Fucking brilliant. I'm well out of touch with hip hop these days but this takes me right back to the good old days of being a Def Jux devotee in the early 2000s - 😎
He used to be in Super Chron Flight Brothers, who were a big urban fave bitd - I think his recent work is his best though. The album Elucid, the other half of Armand Hammer did this year is really good too - definitely worth checking out

I always like this thread as it makes me listen to albums in full and I usually find something new that I like. I've already listened to a couple of new albums while working this morning and will work my way through the rest
yup. Just made a quick note of 5/6 albums to listen to check out , some I wasn't aware had been released.

Good to see Half Man Half Biscuit in the list

Like Spandex I'd of gone with Midnight Scorchers over Midnight Rockers from Horace Andy. It's been my most played this year. I love them both but the mashup on the second album by Sherwood is phenomenal.

Nice to see what you're all listening to and to find some new leads.

Good effort Knotted
