Urban75 Album of the Year 2004

Should've been pop album of the year was Annie's Anniemal. Loaded with excellent tracks, production by Royksopp & Richard X, critics went mad for it but... single Chewing Gum crawled to 25 in the charts, follow up Heartbeat, which deserved to be huge, peaked at number 50. Her label lost interest in her and she's languished as a cult figure ever since.

I bought it for Chewing gum, but the rest of the album turned out to be utterly boring. Uninspiring. I seem to remember there being one other half decent song on it but don't recall what it was (not the above) and I only seemed to have bothered putting Chewing Gum on my MP3 three player so I can't check.

OK 12 lists now. And I'll smash them together in a bit. I've even done one.

You can change everything still. Just after you have received a like in the conversation it does mean your list has already been considered and changing it will be really annoying.

The story there is that there isn't much agreement among you. Most albums are low scoring.

There's ska for when you get sick of punk rock and punk rock for when you get sick of ska and ska punk rock for when you are in the zone. It's got everything.
Huh, wasn't really expecting that to make it in. Fun fact that my 2004 listening for this thread has reminded me of is that the song "ECT" starts with what I'm pretty sure is a sample from Made in Britain, a film that was also sampled just a bit in another album from this year. Something in the air, maybe?
