I ask because the other day it was the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Norman Kirk, who was Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand for a brief spell before dropping off the twig. He stood for Old Labour social democratic principles that would be betrayed completely a decade after his death, and by his own party. But it looks like he's still remembered fondly down in Kiwiland. Anyway, the relevance to this thread is that while reading this thing:
I came across references to a comedy singing duo of NZ origins called Ebony. They took Kirk's campaign song for their own, making it an exercise in mild joshing and gentle ribbing of the Labour leader:
