it's a disgrace that the silver mt zion album isn't top 30 (although I'm very pleased by the placing of Battle Trance - who else voted for it?)
I did, but I guess there must be a few more of us. Anyway you should definitely listen to the Delines, it made the (joint) number one for another ex-U75 poster too.

My list was
  1. The Delines - Colfax

  19. Land Observations - The Grand Tour
  20. First Aid Kit - Stay Gold
Really pleased that the Delines got so high, I guess it's not album which is breaking new ground but it's just so good at what it is. Every time I listen to it I just get swept along into it's little world, just beautiful.

I guess these things always say as much about the person as the music, when I was compiling my list I realised that while from a lot of different genres's a theme running lot of the stuff (particularly the top three), sort a laid back, drift off into a private space feel. These last few months have been really mental and the music that I've rated the most has probably been stuff that has just made me forget about stuff.

Anyway thanks belboid , though I can't believe that the Delines didn't make your cut.

I think you were on the money when you said it was than the some of it's parts. Just didn't click for me at all, not terrible but just a bit dull really (which is probably worse in some ways).

I have the same thoughts every year about this thread.
1. Where do you all hear this stuff. Im lucky if i recognise a couple of the albums?
2. How do you find the time to listen to them all?

Always like the thread though.

For me, Spotify has transformed my ability to find and listen to new music. £10 a month for as much new stuff as I can possibly cram into a day? It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

My list was -

01 Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata
02 Millie & Andrea - Drop The Vowels
03 Run The Jewels - Run the Jewels 2
04 Todd Terje - It's album time
05 Thom Yorke - Tomorrow's Modern Boxes
06 Caustic Window - Caustic Window
07 Thomas P Heckmann - The lost tales vol. iii
08 Automatic Tasty - The Rites Of Wrong
09 Aphex Twin - Syro
10 Zamilska - Untune
11 Sinoia Caves - Beyond the black rainbow OST
12 Andy Stott - Faith In Strangers
13 Kassem Mosse - Workshop 19
I should of had the Innercity Ensemble - II album in there too.

Hadn't heard the Sleaford Mods or Angel Olsen ones before this thread and now really like them
cheers belboid

mm, it made Number 6, which aint bad. Would have been higher but for, A: me overplacing the Shellac, it shouldn't really but at 3, and, B: Sandman's Coming, which I absolutely hate, and comes close to ruining the album. If it was closer to the beginning or the end, I could ignore it more easily, but being right in the middle....

Spotify, 6Music (well, they introduced me to the wonderful Trash Kit - listen to them everybody - & Honeyblood), support bands and other people on here, mainly.

or less than that if you listen via an adblocked browser!

The unplaced Number 1's were:

The War On Drugs - Lost In The Dream (I thought this had an outside chance of being Number 1 – how wrong I was)
That was my number one - clearly the rest of you have no taste at all.

My "To Listen To" playlist is now 4,914 tracks long...

Basically, no one voted for sunn 'n' Scott did they? :D
One person did, but only at number 25 or so, so it got nary a single point.

The Thom Yorke only got one vote as well (rather higher up), and I'm surprised no one but me mentioned Fat White Family - have we all decided they're racists, so fuck 'em, then?

Silver Mt Zion came 52nd
