For me the album of the year is Ben Frost - aurora.

Its brutal, beautiful and represents a lovely evolution in his own sound. Missed the voting and not seen it mentioned.

Same here! I spent much of the year rediscovering the albums I already have (vinyl) as I finally got a record player and my records out of storage. I will get around to listening to some of these..erm...soon

Do yourself a favour and listen to Pyrrhon - The Mother of Virtues. It's very funky and soulful. 100% guaranteed ebullient vibes. Perfect for getting rid of that NY hangover.

I've been enjoying the Malcolm Middleton / David Shrigley album that came out at the start of December. Some great (and hilarious ) lyrics from the boy Shrigley, well complemented by Malcy's instrumentals.

Didn't even realise that MM had released anything, thanks for making me aware of this.

I voted for it, the best bits are great, I suspect it won't be as good as 'By The Throat' over the long haul though - he was fantastic live too
