fuck right off

Millie & Andrea are Miles (off of Demdike Stare) + Andy Stott so no surprise you like it, it's great stuff :)

Yep - I'm a big fan of Stott and the Demdikes - I'm on my 3rd listen of the day! (And in between the 2nd and 3rd listen I went to the doctors to have my ears syringed - a little too much information perhaps but this 3rd listen is sounding exceptionally sweet I can assure you)

3. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Pinata
4. Lone - Reality Testing

Surprised neither of my top two made it on the list...:hmm:

Couldn't get through the Perfect Pussy and Gruff Rhys albums and Beck is about to get the heave ho too (he doesn't sound that different from Rhys tbh).
I have high hopes for the rest of the list though.

Going through some:

Frontier Ruckus - they didnt sound like that before did they? Not how I remembered them. Pretty good, but nothing out of this world.
Warpaint - definitely better than the last one, a few really good tracks on there.
Angel Olsen - I played a bit earlier in the year, as she was on at Green Man. It seemed okay, and so I checked her out at GM. Fucking hated her*. but seeing as you lot all thought she's great i thought I'd try again. A couple of good songs, not horrible, but I really don't see why this did so well and the far superior Sharon Van Etten didn't.
Grouper - now that's better. Much more interesting. Will give it a few more spins.

Silver Mt Zion & Battle Trance up after The Archers

*This also happened with Sun Kil Moon

I thought they were going to sound like House Of Pain, so naturally I was disappointed.

Nice choices but the Laurel Halo one was last year

Why is the Freddie Gibbs/Madlib Pinata better than Madlib's Pinata beats without the predictable shite over the top of it?
