U75's albums of the year 2007

In Rainbows is going to be in the top ten then. Yippee!!!

IN YOUR FACE DUB

ooo! Surprised Battles come in "so" low. I didn't vote for the album myself but I expected it to come well high. It's not bad, tbh, but it's only really Race In and Atlas that do it for me, and when I saw them at the execrable Field Day the sound was too shite to be able to "get it".

Three people say continue, three say leave it til tomorrow. Someone tie break please!

Battles - Mirrored

What surprised me most about those who voted for this record is that Hollis wasn't among them. Because this is pure prog, but prog as it should be done now that another 30 years has passed and lessons have been learned.

Completely forgot to vote for this record. It's fantastic.

Haven't bothered with the Dizzee record yet, think I'll have a download.

Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank

The funny thing about this album is that none of the people who I know used to love MM voted for the album. So the Mouse have achieved a cross-over success from their indie-obscurist roots and achieved proper mainstream success whilst still being able to play All Tomorrow's Parties. What's that about?

Yeah, but it's all about what the people want...

Of course. But comment is still allowed :p

And it was one of the few albums this year about which the word 'disgusting' was appropriate.

Not heard on these yet - I wish there was some way of listening to these before I buy them, cos I bought a couple of things on the strength of last year's list and was very disappointed

even when it doesn't work like, say, White Blood Cells, it's still a great idea. I'm glad the White Stripes exist.

jebus bluey - tis by far the best thing they have ever done....

The rest is......poor variations on the same theme.

- derail! Sorry

I wouldn't worry, they've mostly been rubbish so far. :)

Interpol - Our Love To Admire

Boring fact: The highest ranked album I haven't listened to. So I'll let one of its supporters do it. May Kasahara "
Yes, yes, yes, I know. Lots of people don't rate this album, again. But it is quintessentially Interpol, and for everything that that entails, I love it."

Clarification: I LOVE White Blood Cells, and my language choice was poor. What I meant was that when their stuff doesn't always work as well as WBC it's still a good idea.
