The Urban 6 Nations 2018 Thread

Hopefully some of the shine will come off today's victory for the French when they face Wales at home next week.

Congratulations on the championship, Ireland. Deserving winners and definitely the best side on display this year.

I'm now caught between the creeping horror of an Irish 'slam and the unadulterated joy of Uncle Eddie being beaten three times in a row, and Wales coming a very unexpected second. What to do, Urban?
A draw! That's it.

Keep everything you have crossed like I am

If England lose and we get a bonus point and a win (no bonus point) in next two games... Is that enough?

complacency and hubris has been England's downfall this championship...

that and not running straight lines

let hope Ireland stay focused
And Lions legs. Itoje looks a pale imitation of last year's player

England have 3 wins. 1x 4 pointer and 1x five pointer. They have one lbp from today. We have one BP win so we're five behind. A BP win against Italy means all we'll have to do is match their performance against Ireland in the final game to take second as we should have a far superior points difference. Very, very doable, imo

god that was turgid. boss the breakdown boss England. Hope Underhill becomes a regular starter when fit. Forgotton how much I hate losing to France.

Actually, shit. We've got a BP win and an lbp. That means we'll be a point ahead of things go well against the Azzuri

I thought ireland were relatively poor yesterday and will need to improve in almost every area to beat England next week.

Scotland defended well but were simply fucking dreadful in attack. I lost count of how many chances they butchered.

And while it’s good to win the championship it’s the grand slam that really matters

Sensing a wee bit of the old sour grapes .....?

Ireland are probably the best team we've had in a long time and they are doing great.

England were lost and scrappy against France...
I hope we trash England next weekend.......for so many reasons :D
Not least of all St Paddys day :D

Congrats to Ireland on the championship!

England v Ireland next weekend should be really interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing what our Eddie does tactically.

I woke up today forgetting that Wales are playing yesterday, nice surprise that my Sunday afternoon is sorted.

Oh and gotta feel for the Scots fans yesterday, some really poor handling skills on show, must have been so frustrating to see, shame as the second half would have been a lot more interesting if one of those attempts would have resulted in a try.

Why would proud Irishman, Mr. Retro, be scoffing sour grapes the day after his side won the championship?

They have to sort their away form. No fucker wants to go to Murrayfield these days but by the same token they remain a BP banker away. Bizarre

Me too. I suspect he’ll try to exploit our poor defence in the wide channel but I’m not sure who he can pick to do so. Farrell at 10 and starting with Haskell would be a good place to start. If he does that I’ll be worried

Would like to see Sexton stop whinging at the ref and just fucking play rugby. He was poor yesterday. Bests arrows under pressure need to improve. What to see a bit more from our back row, especially Stander. Henderson starting instead of Toner too.

The only thing they can change is getting Haskell back, both Underhill and now Hughes are out, so Simmonds in as well. The English back row will be solid but hardly spectacular, not much is going to change there in one week.

If they can get the ball out wide Ireland may struggle, I think England easily have the best back three* in Europe, and they've hardly seen the ball yet.

*Obviously not including Mike Brown here!

I feared we might end up with the old smorgasbord of players effect and it's coming to pass. No combinations are gelling, we can't keep possession and we're giving away fucking thick penalties. Now going to be ten minutes with 14. Getting twitchy, we don't really have the bench to change the game if things start going south.

That was so bloody predictable, pack far too lightweight and the whole team playing like strangers.

Parkes and Faletau in a different league. North has responded well to being dropped, think staff evans could do with sitting next week out.

Who'd have thought it....

Next weeks fixtures:-
Scotland win
Ireland win.
France get 1 point against Wales - a losing bonus point perhaps, or even just lose by 5 fewer points than England

A perfectly plausible set of results that would leave England 5th. Sh1t.
