The Urban 6 Nations 2018 Thread

Didn't say they were a bad side at all.

Just not a great one, and barely even a good one based on 5 games against decent / quality opposition.
Post lions year. Maybe the the 4 nations will wake up and realise that 17 month seasons gift the south WOrld cups.

Spymaster one of the fun things about this thread is your full throated support if Ireland. Dunno if that was always the way, but it’s awesome.

Mum was from Glasnevin and they gave me a passport but I’ve always been Ireland in the 5N and gone neutral when we play England. I confused a few folk with a London Irish shirt this afternoon.

But with a grand slam on, there’s no fucking way I was neutral today ;)

They are playing for grubbers. Makes it easier to touch down.
if we are talking the distance between the try line and the deadball line, I'm pretty sure its the only dimension on a rugby field that doesnt have a set legal distance.(unless the laws have changed recently)

Caught up with the Italy - Scotland game today after missing it yesterday and my heart grieved for the Italian players and especially Parisse. So bloody close.

tis some turn around from my feelings at the start of this six nations

proven best team in the north hemisphere :D

Gonna take a few days to get the smile off my face as well

Aside from the 6N I don't really follow rugby, but this edition sums up the beauty of this competition. With the exception of Italy, everyone can beat everyone else, and at the start of the competition you never quite know who will be top or who will be bottom. I assume England were pre-tournament favourites. And they finished 'bottom'.

Still got a smile on my face, didn't even have a hangover this morning. Ireland are immense, lots of depth in the team now and when the subs come on they are up to it. That's the biggest difference with the past.

I actually like that that the celebrations were low key. Shows this is a serious group of players, who now will be back with the provinces and maybe thinking of Australia.

I don't think Joe will pick all the lads who played in the 6N for the tour there, he'll use it to reintegrate some new players and some old ones as the opportunities to do so become fewer with the WC not so far away.

And Shane Ross what a fucking gobshite for being front and centre for the photos with the team and not even knowing their names.

Stockdale wins player of the year. Hardly surprised. Even putting aside his tally sheet he's played with gusto and a big smile on his face. He's been a joy to watch playing.

I think my two key moments in this championship... As in if they hadn't happened we'd be looking at a different outcome... Sextons last gasp kick against France and stockdales intercept against Wales. Without the first Ireland wouldn't have been grand slam champions and without the latter Wales may well have won on points. I have to say. It's been the best 6N I've seen for years. I've thoroughly enjoyed pretty much every game.
