Its lines long enough to need food and water that's the problem. The food and water thing is a distraction from the what the GOP is really doing here and that's throwing people off the voting rolls, making it so difficult to vote (or get the ID to vote) that many can't or won't be able to jump through the hoops. Its raw voter suppression.

It's Jim Crow racism and blatant voter suppression of African Americans. It will be resisted and will go to Court. Already pressure is being put on big Georgia based Corporations and they are folding and issuing statements opposing it. The move of the MLB All star game from Atlanta is a big deal and historic. Try as they might the Republicans can slow but not ultimately stop Georgia's transition to a Blue State, ditto Texas.

I haven't said anything about what I want the American left to do. So it's disappointing but not surprising to see you once again invent views for me. I think you're talking bollocks about the democrats clear political strategy, their successful electoral coalition (let's see how that holds up without trump, their greatest asset), and expanding base. You're not winning, if you were then surely that'd be reflected in the senate where I understand the chamber is split almost exactly 50:50.
If there was a chance to win your objective it was immediately after sandy hook. And nothing happened. It won't happen now. You'd need such an electoral shift to happen it's almost unthinkable. Maybe years down the line. But certainly not in the current Congress and certainly not under this administration.

Also you liked an earlier post (#1860) from some bozo who suggested that every one should have an AR15 (!!!) as it would somehow make society safer. That is literally the far right's argument.
Also you have this idea that the current 50:50 electoral split in the Senate cannot change. It can and the best left wing elements in America are working to change that. Anyone who thinks it is unthinkable is clueless about American politics and the changes in American society.

no I do not have this idea that the current split in the senate cannot change. It has of course changed earlier this year in the democrats' favour. But it won't change immediately, there's a third of the senate seats being contested next year. The best efforts of the best lw elements in America can't change tho that there is a great divide in American society between the major parties. And there's been many years of voter suppression and frank gerrymandering and call me a cynic but that won't all be overturned next year.
