Just horrid that this is still and will keep going in.

Just read some really horrible posts saying that ICE showed up on the scene in El Paso and were asking destressed family members for evidence of citizenship... Quite a few posts circulating that are essentially reaching out to people that are thought to have been present and maybe injured, but left before the authorities got there for fear of problems with ICE too.
I had not even heard of 8chan. Heard of 4chan, but not this. Is it the same only worse?Methinks 8chan has a lot to answer for.
The El Paso Shooting and the Gamification of Terror - bellingcat
Mexico on Sunday threatened to take legal action against the United States for failing to protect its citizens after this weekend's mass shooting in the border city of El Paso.
Of the 20 people gunned down at a Walmart at the Cielo Vista Mall, at least three were Mexican citizens, and Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard promised Mexico City will act.
Ebrard called Saturday's shooting an “act of barbarism.”
Of the 26 injured in the attack, at least nine were Mexican nationals, according to the government.
El Paso, America's 22nd-largest city with an estimated population of 682,669, is more than 80 percent Hispanic or Latino, according to U.S. census data. El Paso sits just across the Rio Grande from Ciudad Juárez, which has a population of 1.3 million.
Yeah. Split off from 4chan around gamergate. Felt that 4chan had too many rules and wasn't full on enough.I had not even heard of 8chan. Heard of 4chan, but not this. Is it the same only worse?

Good grief! You are sounding like an Old Testament prophet here.If they want to bring the gates of hell I will roast them all on my hate.
In this life and the next.
The far-right web forum 8chan, used to celebrate mass shootings and spread suspects' so-called “manifestos”, is likely to be forced offline after losing its cybersecurity protection.
Cloudflare, a San Francisco-based firm that provides added security for websites to prevent cyber-attacks, has said it will stop protecting 8chan at midnight Pacific Time (08:00 BST) on Monday.....
He added: "I have little doubt we'll see the same happen with 8chan. While removing 8chan from our network takes heat off of us, it does nothing to address why hateful sites fester online. It does nothing to address why mass shootings occur. It does nothing to address why portions of the population feel so disenchanted they turn to hate.
"In taking this action we've solved our own problem, but we haven't solved the Internet’s.”...
I posted on Twitter about 'It's almost like you need gun control or something' and got this reply:
Like that country is otherwise exactly the same as US and as though it all happens because 'good' people are unarmed. No mention of all the gun-free countries where death figures are tiny. The denial is astonishing.
The Daily Stormer is still online despite being booted off Cloudflare (and multiple other services) since Charlottesville. It uses the Cloudflare alternative Bitmitigate. The service supplied by Bitmitigate isn't at Cloudflare levels of efficiency. I'm aware of at least two outages this year which led to the regular URL for the Stormer ceasing to work. (It's still available on the "Dark Web" when that happens, but only if you can find its address). I don't see any reason to believe 8chan will not find alternative service providers. Some will say that there's no point to booting obnoxious sites off services then. I disagree, although that doesn't mean I'm applauding Cloudflare for essentially engaging in high profile brand management. The Stormer may still be online but it's harder to find unless you're actively looking for it. And causing problems for lowlifes, however temporary, and being entertained when other people cause them, is it's own reward. However it's fairly clear where Cloudflare's priorities lie. while talking about 8chan coming back online fairly quickly using an alternate service Cloudflare's CEO says:
Dayton Police Deputy Chief Matt Carper confirmed that Connor Betts is the shooter and that his sister Megan Betts, 22, was one of those killed.
If you look at these shooters they have several things in common:
* a history of trauma
*
