The 6 Nations 2019 Thread

Another three things I can’t fathom about France is why the still feel the need for lumps in second row who can only scrum? The Saffa was shite. Secondly why they can pull off spectacular handling do they need to push it further to outlandish passing? Lastly why not settle on two players to cover the backfield instead of having a free for all to get back and catch. If Picamoles is covering back then there is a picamoles shaped hole in defense or not looking to receive a pop pass or latch.

In fairness they couldn't even only scrum that well. Couple of calls at the end aside we were comfortable with everything they chucked at us

(think my viewing experience was akin to that of GD. We were diabolical, however, first game done, banana skin avoided momentum starting to build... .)

Fucking hell France
Talk about literally throwing the game away.

I don't feel great about the England selection tbh. I'm expecting some proper headless chickens moments. Ireland to win for sure.

The french pass that resulted in the North interception....WTF was France playing at. Three bad passes in a row. I nearly intercepted one of them from the sofa in my front room

The headline in L'Equipe this morning is "What was he thinking?", underneath this image:

I have to say. I spent most of that first half with my head in my hand. If I'd had a cat I'd have kicked it. We just looked so fucking clueless. And Frances kicking game was on the money. They looked so good. I've woken up today thinking 'we got out of jail' with that one. That was victory snatched from the Jaws of defeat. Sure we were much much better second half but we were gifted two tries by French ineptitude. Take them out of the equation... We'd have been staring at a loss.

Stunning comeback. Not sure you can play that badly and get away with it again though.
I'd agree with that. But no away team has ever, in the history of rugby, come back from a deficit like that.

And however we won that (and I'd agree it was a combination of a lot of things) we did... And you can only beat what's in front of you. And we took our chances. Showed far better composure and made history. And I'm still a little shell shocked we did too.

As jiffy said prior to our historic win against England when we won in 2013. A lot of rugby is in the top half (in this case he's referring to mental strength)... And I just think this team, whilst still not firing on all cylinders, is playing with great tenacity and not giving up. And arguably, we've not seen mental strength like this from Wales for decades.

One thing I do know. We're in for one hell of a tournament.

BBC Sport - Six Nations Rugby, 2019, Scotland v Italy

Have increasingly enjoyed Italian (and Argentinian) rugby over the years. And I thought Eddie Jones showed himself up as a bit of a sourfaced twat when he said Italy were cheating when they didn't contest the ruck that time. Loved the expressions on the English faces as they didn't know what was going on, then they asked the referee and he told them he wasn't their coach.

I was so glad to see Italy finally turn up. Some beautiful play from Scotland (especially in the second half) but for most of the game Italy just seemed to want to kick the ball back as quickly as possible.

Ok...so yeah its a little bit early. But Im on the wine. And Im super excited. This year I promise to not get too angry/enraged and post stupid shit. I promise to not let my fury spill onto the thread. I will act with decorum. Take this declaration please and hold me to it!

Anyway. What an amazing Autumn International for some teams. Clean sweeps for wales and Ireland. Controversial TMO decisions. But some really memorable games-some superb tries and most of all-the gap between the SH and NH is closing.

2019 6N promises to be a blinder. Least of all because Bendeus will join me at least one of these fixtures to get absolutely destroyed.

So here are the fixtures:

ROUND ONE

France v Wales, Friday Feb 1, 8.00pm (UK & Ireland), Paris

Scotland v Italy, Saturday Feb 2, 2.15pm, Edinburgh

Ireland v England, Saturday Feb 2, 4.45pm, Dublin

ROUND TWO

Scotland v Ireland, Saturday Feb 9, 2.15pm, Edinburgh

Italy v Wales, Saturday Feb 9, 4.45pm (UK & Ireland), Rome

England v France, Sunday Feb 10, 3.00pm, Twickenham

ROUND THREE

France v Scotland, Saturday Feb 23, 2.15pm (UK & Ireland), Paris

Wales v England, Saturday Feb 23, 4.45pm, Cardiff

Italy v Ireland, Sunday Feb 24, 3.00pm (UK & Ireland), Rome

ROUND FOUR

Scotland v Wales, Saturday Mar 9, 2.15pm, Edinburgh

England v Italy, Saturday Mar 9, 4.45pm, Twickenham

Ireland v France, Sunday Mar 3.00pm, Dublin

ROUND FIVE

Italy v France, Saturday Mar 16, 12.30pm (UK & Ireland), Rome

Wales v Ireland, Saturday Mar 16, 2.45pm, Cardiff

England v Scotland, Saturday Mar 16, 5.00pm Twickenham

So you know the drill. One wildcard selection. One likely

LIKELY

Wales (Points)
Ireland
England
Scotland
France
Italy

WILDCARD

Wales (Slam)
Ireland
Scotland
England
France
Italy

We are embarrassingly rich in depth. Our two toughest fixtures are at home. Im going for a wales win on either. We may drop a game against Ireland. But I think Ireland will drop a game against Scotland. We will beat England at home. After today. I both Ireland and England at home dont look a scary prospect.
Ireland grand slam.

Watch ITV live

and

Radio 5 live - Listen Live - BBC Sounds

Not sure whether it's worth me doing ^^ since am assuming most people watching it on tv. Ta for the listing though Grandma dead useful

Aside from Six Nations, is there any more rugby I can watch online without selling my soul to the devil? Used to have Union games but they disappeared and then League matches but they seem to have disappeared too.
