The 6 Nations 2019 Thread

Great try, and that's all she wrote
So much for England being good enough to beat New Zealand at the moment

It’ll be hard to tell whether they’ve been sussed until after the 6N. They’ve got Scotland and Italy left to play. I think the end of season games and the pre-WC games will be when we find out whether Wales’s second half can be copied.

England’s discipline was still better than it was pre-6N I thought, so there’s that.

I *still* think Gatland gets the tactics wrong and got them wrong today. Wales have far more quality and should have won by a lot more. I *still* can't wait for Gatland to go.

But fuck me, that was amazing. What a game! From that first English missed penalty right at the start, you got the feeling they were just too nervous and the Millenium was just too loud for them. Wales really took control second half.

I think he got the tactics spot on.

I've wanted him gone for a while but he does get more out of this team than they offer on paper. I hope we're not going to miss him as much as I fear.

'This is the best Welsh team ever". EDDIE JONES *snigger*. On the plus side Eddie got repeat his fave mantra post match conference' we will learn from this and we will get better'. Yeah you said that after last year's losses in the 6N mate. [emoji23]

I disagree - I thought he should have started Biggar and brought on Anscombe second half. In the first half Wales chose to kick for the corner when England gave away penalties (as they tend to do) and got very little out of it, Biggar could have kicked those. I thought exactly the same against France - we were the better team and we've always been a 2nd half side, why not create a strong foundation in the 1st half? Garland definitely didn't get the best out of these players against France and to me he doesn't seem to instill an intelligent approach to decision making in players. The second half was the time to go for the corner, put England in their own 22 and wear them out.

Anyway, alls well that ends well, let's hope we don't fluff our lines and we can secure the slam!
