Six Nations 2021

Disappointed for the welsh but a fantastic game. Not a happy house here with my two Wales fans.

at the end of the day, whatever had gone on in the previous 4 games, the entire tournament was decided by one decision. with 1.29 left on the clock Wales gained possession in the French half. had we kicked it straight into touch then we had used up at least a minute but the time the line out was taken.

I am going to say that the collapsed maul was as clear a penalty try as you'll ever see, but if my aunt had a dick, etc. We contrived to lose that game irrespective of that decision

Just don't know how to feel. One of the finest games I've ever seen, during which we were the better side for the best part of it, and we end up losing both the game and the slam. It's a bit of a churn

I turned off the telly when France had the man sent off. At that point I thought Wales deserved their Grand Slam, but it was a shame it always seemed that they won against 14 men (or less). Just checked this thread. Blimey. WTF happened?

Bollocks-can't believe Wales lost.Got called away with half an hour to go at which point I texted brother to say thank goodness we are one quarter Welsh. And now this second most disappointing result of the day.Missed most of the second half but after the ordeal of England Ireland which was downright unsettling it seemed like wonderful flowing Rugby. And yeah great reffing what I saw of it.

Thinking back, Wales didn’t close out the game in the last 20, their last points scored on 59 minutes. I’d have kept Dan Biggar on, but I feel the intensity of the first half led to Wales needing to empty their bench. Still Sheedy will have learned from the experience, which is needed if he’s to become the future at 10.

They would've closed out the game if the maul wasn't deliberately brought down three yards from the line after sixty something minutes, tbh.

And yeah, our boys were gassed. Subs may have been made too late this time around as it was full panic stations when they came on.

Oh, and I don't think Sheedy is the future at ten. Lloyd or Costelow the more likely candidates. Anscombe back in a couple of months, also.

Would you rather see a great game and your team lose or a dire one that yours won? Id sooner see a great game and that was one.
Well, as someone who’s kind of a proxy Saries supporter...I have to say that’s a tough call.

true but try that against Billy Vunapola you would be on your arse will england scoring a try

Precisely. That's the whole point, you can choose between a red card or the opposition scoring, that's your choice. You don't get to decide "oh well I'll injure someone to stop the try"

E2A ... without there being severe consequences for you, that is.

Last ten minutes aside that was the best Wales have played since the world cup. With 5 minutes to go and France twatting around keeping going for the scrum (just fucking why???) I realised it was over.

And then it wasn't. Fucking hell.

The French response when they got the yellow was mostly spot on mind, shame it took that to galvanise them. The fucking about with that scrum after the red though

The actual finish for that last try was awesome as well, Fickou delaying it perfectly, again.

What a fucking game

I can't help but think that if we'd simply conceded the try at around 72 with 15 men on the pitch we'd have seen it out. The ill discipline resulting from desperate last ditch defence cost us so badly and ultimately we conceded the try anyway and with two fewer men to defend against the inevitable next one.

Still feeling a bit hollowed out today. It was literally in our grasp and then......... 😢
