There was something floating round about his apple watch wasn't there? Suspecting foul play he'd given his phone to his fiancee and left the watch on record. If this was the case and they'd been too ham-fisted to check/remove it she'd have had the glorious technicolor audio and video of his demise captured from his own wrist.

I wouldn't trust Turkey anymore than I would trust Saudi. The stories regarding the disappearance are a bit conflicting. I suspect the film Turkey has I'd the CCTV footage of khashoggi entering the building.

Not sure this will prove anything as I'm sure the inspection will be very limited and the place will have had an exceptional clean in the last few days.
