you had debate clubs at year 7? I thought that was a US thing, we never had anything like it despite many off to Oxbridge.

Ah yeh thats what I have seen in various dramas, has top marks, does 400,000 clubs and is concerned about getting into a legacy school. The number of top academics and creative types that would not get in at all now is disturbing, even ones in the top areas of their fields.
