Going to a museum?Day off work today. Guess what I’m doing!
The weather has put a real dampener on things for sure. Maybe its the Indian variant or because its a Monday morning, probably a combination of all 3 but I feel pretty meh about the re-opening today. Seems strange after waiting so long. It's been some sorry weather so the last re-opening was a bit shit. Tomorrow is the big day really. Anyone braving it? I have a booking for Tuesday
Including Wetherspoons?Wages for bar work are going up. Friend reports of being offered £11 per hour. Pub used to pay minimum wages to everyone. Not now they don’t if they want to open.
No.Including Wetherspoons?
My local spoons has lost most of its previous team. They won’t hire many people for min wage at the moment.Including Wetherspoons?
No they won't when they are forcing their cleaners to work behind the bar, this is happening. My local spoons has lost most of its previous team. They won’t hire many people for min wage at the moment.
hopefully it will be a quiet office. Try supporting independent pubs rather than that cunt.Got to the local spoons about an hour ago. Never been here before, it's lovely. Huge, airy, only about 20% full, drinks arrive in a matter of a minute. This is gonna be my new office.

The staff don’t support a boycott.hopefully it will be a quiet office. Try supporting independent pubs rather than that cunt.
so what. there's plenty of reasons to boycott wetherspoons beyond their treatment of the staff. The staff don’t support a boycott.
The couple I know would be happy never to see another customer. The staff don’t support a boycott.
Always find is staggering that rather than support what the workers want that outraged/ concerned people promote a course of action which is simpler for them .The staff don’t support a boycott.

Are we compelled to drink in pubs we don't like, who's business practices we believe are harmful to town centres and the sector as a whole in order to 'support what the workers want'?Always find is staggering that rather than support what the workers want that outraged/ concerned people promote a course of action which is simpler for them .

Would you recommend The Black Lion? We don’t drink around the hood at all but it’s within (20 mins) walking distance.Probably won't make it to the pub for a few days, I have been having very chilly outdoor drinks at the grotty local but The Black Lion is open again now and I really want to go over there for a pint even though it is more expensive. They have a lovely big beer garden (which is a bit of a novelty around here - and I think the reason they didn't open until yesterday is because they were doing a bit of a refurb, at least it looked like that when I went past on the bus last week) so ideally I'd still want to go on a sunny day and sit outside.
