Prime Minister Johnson's cabinet

Guardian implying Raab to FCO.

Put him and Williamson at Defence and we'll be at war with > 1 country, by teatime.

Various ministries waiting with baited breath to see where Priti Patel goes.

No one is, one hears, saying 'oh I wish she comes here....'.

Promises that Boris will be jolly well taking personal responsibility for:
  • Hiring 20,000 new police officers "starting today"
  • Upgrading 20 hospitals
  • "Fixing the crisis in social care once and for all"
  • Levelling up per-pupil funding
  • Exiting the EU for definite and making sure everyone's happy with it

Two names I've heard so far are Raab as foriegn secretary and Priti Patel as home secretary, both literally the worst people I can think of for those jobs, unrepantant hateful cunts, why not get Douglas Murray as minister for religious tolerance or something

This cabinet is shaping up to be an unapologetic hive of villainy

Although regardless how verminous the cabinet ends up being, we can still take heart that they have no majority in parliament and little chance of being able to pass any awful legislation.

Definitely. It is reassuring to remember this.

I am hoping for this to fall apart rather quickly. I don't think there is anyone more suited to fall into complete catastrophic failure than Al "Boris" Johnson.

I wrongly thought May would be gone within months of the last election. But she even limped on for another six months after losing the last vestige of authority.

My fear is that Johnson will limp on through to 2022.

I wonder just how long they can limp on? It could be a long time. we as a people tend to be accomodating to all sorts of high level incompetence, brexit being a case in point.

But something has got to give soon. May, in her own way, was a safe pair of hands. Boring, dull, and so on. Johnson is different prospect. Can he be a safe pair of hands?

I don't know, I genuinely have no idea how any of this will play out. But there has got to be a pretty good chance of this going really badly for the conservatives. That's what I hope. I don't want any more muddling through. I want the conservative party to destroy itself for a generation.

I suspect Hancock’s public arse licking of Johnson on today this morning is the action of a man hoping he is left in post.
