This is pretty grim. He has been nicknamed 'The Octopus' for a long time now but it seems certain media personalities are untouchable.
fairly sure the sex pests don't need this option - they just need to express genuine contrition and they might get to come back in a year or two. If they see any consequences at all of course, mostly they don't.Not hard to see an upcoming pivot to Spiked or somewhere similar to make a career moaning about being cancelled by the woke lefties is it.
Yeah but remember when they all coalesced around John Kay who literally murdered his wife.Actually relieved that Maugham has tweeted this tbh. It's about time that someone who can afford to was prepared to put their head above the parapet.
Corrected (very trivially! ) for you.I've been seeing allegations about Nick Cohen for literal years. He's certainly acquired a reputation for properly unacceptable behaviour, but The Observer don't seem to give a shit.
His articles are published and read on the guardian website. He writes for the guardian.Corrected (very trivially! ) for you.
Not of much relevance, obviously , but just in the interest of accuracy ...... </moves on >

Why bother trying to make the distinction on a thread exposing someone as a sex pest? You don't want the sex pest associated with your beloved newspaper? Hard luck there - it's a distinction your beloved newspaper is very happy to blur so they can have content on Sundays and more readers for their sister newspaper's articles.it's not very relevant at all
Serious thread interrupted by U75 pedantry
Sorry to interject, but the Guardian is nowhere near 'the most widely read newspaper website in the country.'The Guardian publishes Cohen's articles on their website, the most widely read newspaper website in the country. The fact that they are also published by a sunday newspaper no-one reads is pretty irrelevant in 2022.
it said it was on the article I read earlier - guess it must have been out of dateSorry to interject, but the Guardian is nowhere near 'the most widely read newspaper website in the country.'

I don't think the Guardian has ever been the most popular newspaper website - at least not in recent years.it said it was on the article I read earlier - guess it must have been out of date
this is the article anyway - it's only from last year: Guardian most widely used newspaper website and app for news, says OfcomI don't think the Guardian has ever been the most popular newspaper website - at least not in recent years.
Maybe it's the app bit that's inflating the Guardian's popularity but every other source I've seen has them nowhere the most popular news websitethis is the article anyway - it's only from last year: Guardian most widely used newspaper website and app for news, says Ofcom
