Local Newspaper Headlines!

Hotel owner cross that sand blows off the beach onto the frontage of his beachside hotel. Thinks someone else should sort this out (the council). Is very cross. Obligatory pointing at sand photo included.

He should’ve called it something else then.

Miserable bastards. I tried to get a pizza at that place last summer at about 18.00 and they stopped selling them early.

That’s a very British thing, restaurants, and especially cafés, close very early. There’s three restaurants in this village, they are all closed at 10. We depend on golfers in the local economy, but there’s nothing within the village after the pub (closes at 10 too) and restaurants are closed so people go to the other villages and towns instead.

Top class trolling from the council! “We are aware of the Sandbanks Hotel’s concerns about banked sand”

All the chippies round here close at 9 o'clock (or at least used to when I was going out). What's the point of that? Coming out of the pub is peak fish-and-chip time.

It was 6 o'clock, well within their prescribed opening times. They gave some proxy excuse like they were too busy. I was really looking forward to having pizza on the beach as well. Btw. That hotel is not really an independent family run hotel, it's part of fjb hotels. We stayed at the one by the ferry
I remember cycling through Belgium many years ago and virtually everything closed about 7.

We always had this issue when we used to drive from Spain through France. The places in France close so early compared to Spain. Eating dinner at 7!

A slow news day in Grimsby...
