Just how toe-curlingly awful will the 'festival of Brexit' be?

Doesn't matter anyway Brits got most of their good music from the Caribbean, not Europe. i expect fox killer remainer Jolyon Maugham will praise the initiative for being a light during these dark times.

Don't worry Mike Reid will being going his Calypso set

(the USA the major influence shirley...the Americas perhaps the catch all)

Yeah, but there isn't really a distinct form of uniquely late 20th century UK popular music until post-punk. Something that doesn't sound like anything coming out of the states. Well that's not strictly true. There was the Canterbury Scene, Rob Wyatt and them lot, but as far as I'm aware it was not exactly a top 40 thing. Otherwise Bowie does not sound all that alien to American rock ears.

It's back as 'Festival UK 2022' with that slobbering twat Jamie Oliver at the helm.

The event has two stated aims - to "bring people together to celebrate our strengths, values and identities", and to "celebrate our offer to the world" in the hope of generating business and investment.

Sad to see Josie Long involved in this patriotic pish.
