The number of soon to be unemployed ministers and tds complaining that the issue is "communications" is breathtakingly as if to say "we should have used smaller words to explain things to you simpletons and we'd still be in charge"

Cian Prenderville came very close to making it and his transfers got Jan O Sullivan Back in.

AK47 and Joan back too to finish the demolition job on Labour

Maybe one or two of them will hear that lovely phrase 'Jobs bridge'

AAAPBP in a battle for two seats which if they got would give them full speaking rights

Is a FF/FG coalition the only possibly outcome here? Looking at the results I can't even see a viable three way coalition alternative.

Minority government, for the rest of the year as FF have said they won't bring down a Kenny led coalition for at least a year. A chance to replenish the war chests.

Unlikely isn't it. Brid should get in. But Lyons won't get any transfers from that shit Cian O'Callaghan, they will probably go to Tommy Broughan.

Three FF TDs have come against the treaty.

I really just wish they'd hurry up and fuck

No chance. They may have very few ideological differences but it's all about the Treaty and nothing else. That's why FF won't form a grand coalition with FG.

I think there's more to it than that at the minute . Martin would be a fool IMHO to go into coalition with FG at the present time. All he has to do is cynically sit back and watch Kennys outfit flounder and implode even more , while he sticks the boot in, and pick up even more seats. Also can't imagine him being content to be Kennys effective no 2 while getting splashed with his mud .
There would need to be some pretty massive concessions to him to even consider it I reckon . Dumping the water charges would be the big one. They're so unpopular if FF can secure their demise they'll see a big political reward in that that might entice them in. It would allow them to take the wind out of Adams sails , make Enda look weak and Ff to be the country's saviours once more .

Sinn Fein activists in Dublin West really are going mental. They are absolutely convinced that Ruth Coppinger somehow cost them a seat that was rightfully theirs and are waging a campaign of personal vilification of her on social media. The tantrum would be funny if it wasn't for the sexism, threats of personal violence etc.

There will be a flurry of statements about how Socialism is alien to the Irish.

I thought STV was supposed to prevent situations like this.

The howling has nothing to do with anything that actually happened. Sinn Fein in Dublin West didn't get their vote out, are incapable of understanding that anything could ever be their own fault, and really, really hate the socialist left. That's pretty much all it takes for them to let the misogyny hang out.

Paul Connolly is making some Labour members look positively gracious in defeat.

Have there been more results today? Been trying to check the outstanding Dublin constituencies, but there doesn't seem to be any update.

Not really. The only ones of real interest are Brid Smith in Dub South Central and John Lyons in Dub Bay North. Smith will almost certainly win, Lyons unfortunately looks almost as certain to lose. The other issue of interest is whether O'Riordain, a Labour Junior Minister and the poster boy for useless liberals, holds his seat in Dub Bay North.

The FF team in South Central are talking about court proceedings, desperation or what?

FF are requesting a written explanation for every contested vote in Dublin SC. Could be a while before it's called.

They've lost but can't admit it.

So ...

Sinn Féin - 23
AAA-PBP - 6
Clare Daly, Mick Wallace & Maureen O'Sullivan - 3
Greens - 2

Social Democrats (left of the labour party) - 3

That's 37 in all. Has to be regarded as progress.

Any more of the Independents fit, however loosely, the 'left of neo-liberal' bill?

Zappone is had been part of the marriage referendum campaign and is active in the pro choice campaign dont know her politics beyond that.
