Glastonbury 2022

Is it worth seeing Paul McCartney just for Hey Jude?

I've got a bit? of a dillema between Paul McCartney and Pet Shop Boys as well -- PSB would definitely win overall  -- they were utterly amazing at Glastonbury last time  -- but I think I'd still want to catch some of that ex-Beatle's greatest hits as well, if I could!

We had our Info Crew Training on Sunday (22/5) :)

This was in Zoom form, and I have to say that on-line training (for our first ever time!) turned out to be far more boring than the trad face-to-face training we'd been used to ahead of previous Glastonburies! :( :hmm:

ETA : They banged on about Covid to an over-lengthy extent IMO (and esppecially in festivaldeb's O! :D ), which given that Covid-restrictions will actually be quite limited at Glastonbury 2022 (to my surpise!), did become somewhat tedious!

Otherwise, it seems that remarkably little has changed, site-lay-out-wise and generally

Biggest two :

1. For Arcadia, The Spider! will be back! -- apparantly the logistics, etc., of bringing 2019's Crane back were too troublesome, but we weren't told any other details :hmm:

2. BBC Introducing will not be in Silver Hayes any more -- they've moved it to a stretch not far below Left Field, heading down towards Pyramid/Cider Bus area.

Struggling to think of any more significant (or any!) changes around the public areas, although I'm sure some Market details, etc, will have altered.

For 'Orange Camping' (Dairy Ground), (staff/crew/volunteers), some Stewarding crews have been moved away from there to outside the Fence.

We (info Crew) have been allocated a slightly larger crew-camping area, right at the top of Orange Camping, very near to Vehicle Gate 4 and to Pedestrian Gate D ( I think that's right! ). We're not sharing with our pals in the Property Lock-Up crew any more, though ..... :(

If I remember anything else, I'll post that soon, but for now, just assume that Glastonbury 2022 will be near-identical infrastructurally, to Glastonbury 2019!

The weather will surely be as good as well :D :p
Are property lock-up crews still in Dairy Ground camping? Or are we being moved too?

That map link didn't work, page not found.

I don't know, I haven't heard (from our team, anyway) one way or t'other.

But because the Property Lock-Up Crew is also very long-established, I'd be quite shocked if you guys were moved out!

I think it best that you email your supervisor/group directly!

You'll need to know in advance in any case, where you were going to be based, before you get on-site -- with luck you can get some early re-assurance from your team :)

Plenty of intersting links, with more detail, in the link for The Green Fields article that I posted above :)

I recommend the Permaculture Garden! in particular! ;)

(Just found this 25-Years of The Green Futures Field! history, which has a paragraph about the Perma area  :) ).

The permaculture garden is always a welcome chill out stop. Worth plotting up by the fire and enjoying a portion of pakora.

Thanks, fingers crossed it won't change. Our crew usually camps in Dairy Ground and works in the Oxlyers property lock-up, and some camp in family and do the family property lock-up.

Posted the above at the top of this page pretty recently (30th May)

So ....... With no time to check stuff right now (I'm going back to work today   ), can anyone confirm (or not?!) that there was going to be a clash between Paul MacCartney and The Pet Shop Boys, but now there isn't any more??

Macca is Saturday Pyramid Stage headliner, Pet Shop Boys are Sunday NME Stage headliner.

So, provided you're not working either of those nights, you can see both. :)

I'm obviously glad about this :), but why were there several earlier posts just upthread, discussing a possible clash between the two artists?

As of today (Tuesday 7th June!) we now have :

1. Crew passes! :)
2. On-site Vehicle pass!
And most importantly! :
3. Our Information Crew rotas! With shift-times! Which we share! :) :D

All shifts will be at Green Info, just below the old railway line, (Usually opposite or at least nearby Manic Organic, and next to Shepherds Ice Cream stall!)
Green Info map reference : 28W.

Here we go! :

Wednesday 22nd June : 8 am to 1 pm
Thursday 23rd June : 1 pm to 6 pm
Friday 24th June : 6 pm to 11 pm
Saturday 25th June :
NO SHIFTS!!:D  :)
Sunday 26th June : 1 pm to 6 pm

We agree that they're pretty good shifts overall. Five hours long rather than four hours long (as in previous years).

But!! We will be able to see Hobo Jones and The Juunkyard Dogs on Friday afternoon, Paul McCartney on Saturday evening, and The Pet Shop Boys headlining The Other Srage on Sunday evening!!

And that's just the major! acts!! :p :D

Come and visit us at Green Info, when we're on-shift, Urbans!

Looks like we'll now also be able to make any proposed Cider Bus meet-up! on either Wednesday afternoon/night or Thursday afternoon/night!
Maybe both!
