Glastonbury 2022

Nine Inch Nails have just announced their only tour dates of 2022.

Two nights at The Eden Project.

Two weeks before Glastonbury. If they play Glasto you have go go see just for the light show 👍

I missed some sad news from January --the Festival lost a man who had been central to all sorts of areas for thirty years! :( :(

Robert Richards (1956-2022)

Michael Eavis said:
His first job was setting up the information and CND campaigning stalls and he was the producer of Julien Temple’s Glastonbury film in 2006. In recent years, Robert has been responsible for partnerships, large commercial deals and sponsorship, and he helped secure the license for the Festival to continue in 2014.

I wasn't aware of him , but the above looks like I should have heard of him.

I'd be surprised if our Info bosses don't pay tribute to him in some way, at this June's fest .... :)

Macca, Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish confirmed as headliners.

Prob the one year the line up makes no odds to those who've been waiting for 3 years, but not a 'bad' selection (YMMV).

You can see Emily has taken over booking the bands. That's the worst line-up I've ever seen.*

Still wish I was going, though,
.
*And yes, I know there are other stages to announce and it's about far more that just the music.

I'm fine with only some of the acts on the poster above, but I do keep reminding myself that they're main stager acts only, and that there are a lot more small-stage line-ups to come.

Im fact I can see myself posting up some smaller-venue links and posters myself, before long! :)

Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, Jarv Is, Elbow, Fontaines DC, maybe Foals, definitely Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Nightmares on Wax, The Waterboys ..... </showing my age  >

Those are a few of the jump-out-at-me acts that would be on my try-my-hardest-to-see list.

But a lot oft them will no doubt compete with smaller-stage/smaller-festivals' acts, and also competing will be shifts and (at different times!) cider, and general disorganisedness. That's Glastonbury! :D :weed::thumbs:  ;) :)

Another competing thing : either extreme mud! :( or extreme heat!

I think the line up so far is good. I wouldn't bother with anyone on the top row (although I might watch Diana Ross if I was passing) but of the rest there's about 30 acts I would happily see.

Unfortunately, despite having tickets, circumstances mean we can't make it so some lucky so and so will be getting our tickets in the resale :(

Yep same here. Plenty of stuff further down the bill to interest me there. I do like it when one of the headliners is a Bowie or The Cure or something major but that ain't gonna happen every year.

That's a real shame :( -- I take it there's no chance of matters altering?

I'll be there, I've a mate who lives an works for Eavis all year now, started as a Festival litter lorry driver, Glastonbury is one where I seldom look at stage line ups and just bumble around, a lot of my peers slag it off as a sell out, and yeah in many ways it is but it's still a fucking good few days! 😁@X

Any other job possibilities, Riff ??

Hope so!

Also, do still keep an eye out for re-release of odd batches of tickets?? Maybe at unpredictable times!

I believe there's a way of getting alerted about these online/on smartphone, but someone less of a Luddite/tech-incompetent than me will have to tell you about that!! :(

GOOD LUCK!! anyway! You're not 'not going' until Tuesday 21st June 2022! By which time you will be going!

Possibly. Messaged you.

Was trying for two coach tickets tonight from Bristol. My travelling "companion" failed to tell me she was trying to get one for herself from Nottingham.

In the meantime one of my mates was trying on my behalf and said "I have entered your details and got the 12.30 coach from Bristol for you". He was about to enter my card details when I asked if he'd entered for the other person. He said he hadn't. By the time he went back and re-entered with her details, Bristol had gone.

In the meantime she'd managed to get her own Nottingham ticket. :(

ye[, i was lucky in the re sale on Sunday - in the past i've either had a press pass or more recent a ticket via a local resident - but there was less wrangling with local tickets apparently this year

The only missing link for me was to try and get a Tipi Village ticket on Sunday's resale (Mrs S has been dying to try one  ) , but they didn't even look to be available at the resale.
