Glastonbury 2022

Just that a nationwide railstrike is planned.
Only on Tues 21st, Thurs 23rd and Sat 25th June, as mentioned elsewhere in this thread. Hopefully (if it goes ahead), it shouldn't affect festival goers too much.

William of Walworth You've got the 8am Wednesday shift? You should just hang a sign round your neck with an arrow saying 'Pennard Hill is that way'. :D
It'll mostly be the Main Info Tent (Ford's next to William's Green), and the one near Left-Field, that will get all that nonsense! :D :p

</Ultra-cautious mode> : BBC Forecast so far hints (for Glastonbury town) that we might!!!??? be OK weather-wise this year.

Goes up to Wednesday 22nd June only, but updates daily :)

Very early days obviously, and to recycle my old cliche, :

"Your forecast can go down as well as up!" :D

(This is of particular concern to me this year, because of my recovering feet :(. Hence the lack of my usual weather chat so far ...... ;) )

Sad to say that fellow-Urban paolo will not be working at Glastonbury this year :( :( -- for various reasons.

Ours and paolo's good pal Simon might?? have acquired a last-minute job though ..... :)

In that spirit, good final-moment luck to anyone still hoping to get onto any crew .....

Tues 21st is the main arrival day for a lot of staff and festival goers. This will cause a lot of frantic scrabbling around for alternate transport arrangements.
Plus the fact that with the trains out on Tuesday, they'll be knock on effects on Wednesday, with trains ending up the 'wrong' place after the strike, so I'm told by people who know about these things. Sounds potentially grim for anyone affected.

Buggery bollocks. Just found out after checking the ticket tracker that my tickets were dispatched on 25th May to the lead booker's address.

His postal address is in Hampshire.

My address is in Northumberland.

He's currently at a festival in Spain where he actually lives.

I'm sure See in the past have sent tickets out to respective addresses rather than the lead booker's address. :(

See you there, etc. :D :)

Best of LUCK!!!!!! :)

So far contacted the lead booker (he's at a festival and was a bit pissed last night) and See (no reply yet, unsurprisingly).

See have reached a whole new level of incompetence by sending all tickets to the lead booker in each party, irrespective of whether or not they live miles apart!

It appears that if people bought tickets in the resale (like a few of us did), according to Glastochat all the tickets go to the address of the lead booker who paid off the balance, irrespective of where everyone in the party actually lives.

Well done, See, you useless fucktards!

Hi all - apologies if posted elsewhere - I did search. We have a lift share to offer to Glastonbury - any good sites for offering this?

I was trying to dredge up from memory whether this was the case with resale tickets. And very hazy, pre-Covid, long ago memories of what happens when you get them in the main sale.

We got resale tickets this year, and yes, have had to send on one of them to a friend in Greece, despite See saying that international tickets would have to be collected at the Box Office this year. We were clear as mud as to what would happen with our tickets seeing as only one of the four was international, I was thinking we might all have to trek to the Box Office. But they sent all four to us, the lead booker's address. Mad scramble to get the fourth one in the post to Greece in time, and I'm waiting slightly nervously for confirmation it's arrived.

Good luck in sorting your situation out. I'm in Hampshire, but I'm not sure that's of any use to you. Hope your friend's back in time to get it to you.

We got a campervan resale ticket as well this year, first time ever in a (borrowed) camper for a festival. I'm very much looking forward to not dragging in 4 people's stuff this year! More of our friends van it these days than not. It'll be nice to (hopefully, if convoy works) to be with some of them and not miles away in Wicket Ground family camping, latterly mostly on our lonesomes, which we've outgrown really now.

I queried with See Tickets why they are sending out resale tickets out in single batches to the lead booker's addresses instead of individual ticket holders.

All they sent me in response was this link Glastonbury Festival - Tickets by means of "explanation". Absolutely no good if you all live at completely different addresses scattered across the county (or indeed abroad like chainsawjob's friend).

No option on their website to choose whether you want resale tickets to be sent just to the lead booker (easy for them) or individual's addresses (easy for the customer) like they do in the main sale. And they have the cheek to each charge us all postage!
