Glastonbury 2019

Just got through one one page saying sold out. Have another couple still hanging so will hold on just in case...

Got 17 of our group of 23. Gutted for the one group we didn'd succeed for. We'll all try hard in resale.

That was hard. Really hard. My browsers (that had been working fine on Thursday for the coach sale) decided to chuck a wobbly. Everything was coming up as "this page cannot be displayed." Mr Riff's laptop and phone decided to run on a go-slow and I was wondering if it was my router. Mysteriously, everything is working fine now. I wasn't even sure I'd got tickets until the confirmation e-mail came through as the See website was giving weird messages.

I didn't get further than my browser telling me to check my connection. Weird messages would have been light relief.

9 out of 17 groups here. Two years ago we got 100%. :(
It does seem like a very low result :(

I got consistent 'we are processing the maximum number of things we can' and no other messages, then I got the ticket page up - had auto fill set up for both registrations and card so it probably took 3 seconds to buy them. Tried going back to see if I could get back into the booking page again but it just kept sending me back to the 'maximum processes' page.

Resales it is then. That did seem especially hard this time, not a sniff of a booking page, mostly 'this site cannot be reached', or the holding page. Only half the people I know trying got tickets. Bum.

Yeah it’ll be shortly after the week where people who got tickets  have to pay the balance, which is normally first week of April.

I'm glad I didn't get them now. I get to see who the headliners are before deciding if I want to waste £250 on some old hack like Paul M or some naff American Rapper.

It turns out that our good mate Andrew ("the brewer" ;) ) failed to get a coach package ticket yesterday, so for the first time in ages he has to join the general throng on Sunday ....

I believe he's still a solo-operator this year  and while he has fantastic tech and connections at home, it'll be a huge fucking challenge for him just like it will be for everyone. So much depends on luck as well as on judgement!

Yet more good-luck wishes to everyone from us ... :)

And he failed -- both on Thursday and today :(

He's looking into working now, for the first time!! This year would be his 9th (?) Glasto I think.

But straight after his ticket failure he contacted both Oxfam (for stewarding) and his relevant CND branch (for property lockup crewing) today.

We have friends on both crews and may? be able to help him a bit ....

But congratulations to all here who managed to get tickets :) :), and commiserations :( to those who failed.

Good luck to all in the resales though, and/or in any crewing searches :)

At home with Glastonbury on your mind?

David Bowie's utterly legendary Pyramid stage gig of 2000**, an hour-long version of it anyway, is being shown on BBC4 NOW!!!

**which I missed back then :( :( at self, being a very cider-challenged, utterly stoned, priority-wrongness-filled twat at the time

Presumably the above will be i-Player-available for tomorrow etc if you are out right now, or preocuupied with Friday night whateverness :)

I didn't go either. Watched Gil-Scott Heron followed by Ozomatli instead. No regrets. Both absolutely fantastic.

I think you were at least one more in the early 2000s, I did see you at one of those ....which one post-superfence?

2000 was the last mass-break-in one without a megafence ...
Ah right. Bit hectic crowd-wise iirc. I think that might be one of the reasons I missed Bowie - I'd have needed to get there pretty early and I wanted to see Gil Scott-Heron over on the Jazz Stage. Yes I did go to one more - first one after the fence I think. Much less crowded. I remember wandering to the front of the stage to watch Queens Of The Stone Age no problem. Dave Grohl drumming. Fucking hell they were good. You would've needed to camp out all day to get anywhere near there the year before.

All the campervan tickets sold out in under an hour this morning (manged to get the two I needed, though). Also, Worthy View and the Tipis sold out. Sure it's getting harder; getting ridiculous!
