I was going to leave after the Who, but gave up on them about 2 tracks in (not for me at all) and decided on the spur of the moment to schlep my way up to the Other Stage to see what all the fuss was about.

Fuck me, that was a gig to leave on!! Awesome.
Good choice - well worth the schlep

Just booked tix to see them at the Forum in September  Get in there!

Ouch, I ache :D

That was brilliant, the only low point was my brother fucking his ankle up, but even that hasn't put that much of a downer on what was a brilliant weekend.

Full report later, I'm off back to bed :D

Blimey -- you can watch most of it again here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2007/watchandlisten/

btw. did it feel like overly BBC this year -- seemed like it on the telly.

There again, I doubt it did -- unless you were there for the bands on the old pyramid.

Actually, I can marked this down as a year in which I saw more than 2.5 bands -- my typical average :D

Even caught some headliners :p

Am back - was class, big thanks to mistermoose and mooose, aqua, bees, dubversion, stig and anyone else who I may have met again :D

An extra big thanks to tp and crustychick, with out them I would never have gone or had such a good time  x

Going to eat some "English comfort food" now... mince n dumplings :)

Highlights: Meeting up with mates and hanging around on a nighttime getting fucked.

Lows: Not being able to meet everyone, missing bjork, my tent and my phone being shite (delayed texts etc :()

Arcade Fire looked AMAZING. very jealous of anyone who saw this set.

Dude!!! I got your text on the Friday, I'll give you a shout later on :)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx :D :D

From my front room I enjoyed The Marleys, some of the Lily Allen thing, some Arctic Monkeys songs, the Mika track they showed and a few African bands they kept showing on the JAzzworld -- looked  And Bassey while I was cooking my dinner yesterday.

Who are this Arcade Fire -- is it a new band the kids are into? Jo Whiney was raving about them, so I hate them.

Saw Gorgo Bordello (ace), The Bees, Damien Marley, Fatboy Slim (naf), 3 Daft Monkeys, Lightyears, Babyhead, Artic Monkeys, The Who, Shirley, Arcade Fire and a few other bands that have been soaked up into the empty memory that is cider.

I really have no idea about Wedneday night. It took me ages to wind down and relax on Wednesday and in the process I got fucked :D

Whiney voiced indie prog rock stuffed full of synths and layers, you either like them or you don't, I reckon. They're not a grower as the bloke as a 'unique' voice. I like them and I can't stand 9/10 stuff that is new these days :)

Was it me but the whilst watching it on TV the cameras were going all over the place, one second its the crowd then the bass then a flag  had to switch off in the end

was it me or was there a proliferation of flags in the crowd this year. i remember flags but never seeing quite so many as there were this year.

They said there were more flags on the BBC.

There again, they said this year was the biggest crowd, ever.

Ummm... 2000? Idiots.

Just got back, got changed, bunged all my filthy clothes in the wash and having a cup of tea

Big love to all the people I spent time with, hope all those I only saw once had an ace time.

Big fuck off to the taxi driver who refused to take me home from Temple Meads 'cos I was too muddy (and yes, I did call him a wanker to his face - don't mess with jittug on a comedown  :D ) and a big cheers to the one who did take me. Hope you enjoy the massive tip I gave you mate :)

I had a good time first day or two - peaked a bit early, especially on the Wednesday night when several people on this here site can testify I was somewhat bollocksed :D

Have to admit that after that I found it hard work - combination of comedown, working shifts in the wasteland of ped gate B and the sodding rain. Mud's fine as long as we have sunshine but rain just ballsed it up for me. Got really flakey, saw absolutely nothing on Saturday as a result.

Sunday was better, wandered around and saw Billy Bragg, a bit of Seth Lakeman and Timariwen, Dreadzone and the Who (who were shite). Also saw Gogol Bordello on Friday (shite) and bits and pieces of other things.

Everyone I know who was at Arcade Fire said they were crap.

The entire Pyramid line up was shite. It's a great stage, spectacular at night, but please put some halfway decent acts on it.

Had a fab time munting around with derv and the Brummie posse. Sorry I couldn't say goodbye properly guys, and apologies for being too flakey to turn up at your tent in the mornings when I said I would!

Packing up this morning was hard work, it pissed down all night and morning.

Have to say that the stones at 5am are not a very impressive advert for Glastonbury. People pissing wherever they please, nicking bits of fencing for firewood etc. Sorry but it just makes the place look like it's full of the sort of wankers I spend my life avoiding. The excellent company of aqua, bees, Skim and derv made it all bearable though.

I'll be back but I can't say it was the best festy I've been to this year let alone ever. Glad lots of others had a good time though :)

Blimey. Had a marvellous time on the whole, although the extra 25,000 was a strain too far on the infrastructure, imo.
Decided to leave at 10-ish last night cos we thought we'd have trouble getting the van out, and boy, were we right. Got completely stuck in wheel-spinningly bad mud, whilst all strawbales/stewards/police/security/tractors/big burly blokes called Steve evaporated, and I spent 20 minutes trying to push it uphill myself. The problem was compounded when Mr Fucking Can't Wait tried to drive round us, wedging his caravan tight alongside our van so neither of us could move without wrecking our paintwork. Luckily his wife was scared enough by my stream of Mancunian invective to shame him into towing us out, using a bit of rope we nicked off someone's flag. I spent the journey North quietly setting like a clay pot, and had to be chipped out of the van when we finally made it through some of the worst weather I've ever seen.

Although we thoroughly enjoyed it, definitely not going next time. Lovely to meet you lot again, though. :)

Yeah, tbh I think they could lose 50,000 from the capacity and it wouldn't be any the poorer.

Last night's weather was horrific, the worst of the week.

What the crowds like by main stage and queus for loo etc like? Really put off going this year as found it bad enough and claustrophobic enough even before more tickets sold

the bogs were fine, there's loads of the things so I can always relieve myself far more quickly than I can at any other festival I know.

Main stage I have no idea, everything on there was shite so I took myself elsewhere :D

Left last night after The Who, they were, for me, the highlight of Glastonbury.

Took three hours to get out of the camp site, luckily, after that it's only about 15 mins to my house :D :D

Saw Iggy on the Saturday. Come on, get up on the stage, NOT REALLY thought through, that's the kinda thing you do on the last number of the set NOT early into your set. Hey Ho, you live and learn.

Saw Jeremy Hardy --- very funny.

Waterboys were a fine and polished performance

Best "find" were Reverend and the Makers -- very good set indeed.

Amy Winehouse - take her or leave her.

Managed to miss seeing the Trash Field Circus in its glory, but it looked like it had a lot of potential.

Not a "bad" Glastonbury, probably my last, only sneaked under the wire by living so close I could get a residents ticket(s), can't see next time being so lucky.

I had a good time but not an outstanding time. To be honest I found the people there a bit flat and not very up for it. There was some brilliant music on the go but the festival as a whole has changed and seems no longer to be what it used to be.

4 years ago I left the front of the manics wringing the sweat from my shirt having had an awesome gig. This time I was at the same place and the people around me were barely jumping. From surging crushing madness to barely better than polite applause since 2003. The crowd was still capable of kicking off, say for Maximo and the Chemos, but on the whole too many tourists to be a proper festival anymore.

Another thing so few jugglers, fairy wings and people in dread locks..... Its still a great music festival but I think the heart of it has gone. (my opinion only: most will probibly disagree strongly)

You should have been at the Madness gig in LV. Completely mental, people being helped out of the crush, everybody jumping up and down like crazy - the heat was phenomenal (note to GreenFields - try to harness that energy and you're onto a winner :D )

I was to be fair, not there this year but think that a good review of way it has changed-I have missed the crustie types for last few years and the old skool hippies seem like exhibits in a zoo being photographed by estate agents from Swindon. The carpark was full of brand new cars instead of random old bangers and the vibe certainly in the main arena seemed to have changed.
But too be fair was big enough to find some proper friendly interesting people like some wonderful old hippies in the green field who took me and my little bro under their wing when I was lost and trashed and made me lots of tea in a cool old truck they lived in-that for me is the essence of Glastonbury:cool:

well, it was my first time and i bloody loved it. first thing i noticed was how bloody huge it is!! Alot of the people i was with said that people weren't as friendly and stuff as times before, but obviously i didn't have anything to comapre it to.

The mud was pretty fun but the rain did get on my nerves after a while.

Saw some wicked bands, last night was amazing with Pendulum and Chemical Brothers..and then Bill Bailey.

Sorry i didn't manage to meet any of you urbanites, although I did see Dubversion and Pie Eye (i presumed??) in the Cabaret tent which was pretty surreal! I didn't say hello though.
