Glastonbury 2007 pt2: the festie!

Iggy was excellent though, as were Gogol Bordello - they fucking rocked big time. The Coral were ace, as were the Arctic Monkeys, but I didn't get to see hardly any of the bands I wanted to, due to it becoming increasingly hard to move around the site. I got into several total log-jams that took a good half hour to dissipate...the extra people deffo made a big difference to mobility

They are ace aren't they!!!

Did anyone see The Marleys? Loads of the Marley family were playing Bob and the Wailers' classics.....we saw them on the telly and they were absolutely amazing!

They're all gorgeous.....
Listened to it form our tents on the Big Ground. Was cool and chilled, went well with the campfire keeping us warm on a June afternoon.

Fucking tell me about it. A 4 man tent clearly is not big enough for 3 reasonably sized women
I think you were camping right next to me you know but we never met. When we got there I remember people putting up your tent for you.

Can anyone tell me how well the Jazz World and other smaller stages were filled compaired to usual. On the Wednesday afternoon I was prepaired to make a bet that they would get less of a crowd, after scanning the people who'd turned up.

Could be wrong but it may have been down to more people going to the two big indie pop stages.

Really? That's a shame. What colour was your tent?

Seemed about the same to me...if anything the Jazz World stage seemed to have a bigger crowd

My highlight was the band called !!!, saw them at the Glade and they rocked. As did Iggy and Bright Eyes, I am soooooooo glad to be outta that mud though, hadn't been for about 8 years and felt it has gone a bit too middle class, the edge has gone, was still a great time tho.

Tell you what I did notice, and I'm not sure if it was caused by the mud, but there were a hell of a lot of rude, pissed off people, shoving you out the way and scowling..totally unlike last time we went where everyone, literally, was in a fantastic mood and lovely to each other

Home. Knackered. Glastonbury - rah! Excellent time had.

Can't write more, too tired. Lovely to see everyone there!

just got back now. i miss it. arcade fire, !!! and iggy were my highlights.
post glastonbury depression starts here :(

The weather makes such a difference. When you haven't burned all your energy stomping across site in clinging mud, you're more likely to dance around and give a shit. When it's muddy, the bands are just resting breaks between the punishing exercise.

Memorable Bits:

Arcade Fire & Bjork rounding off the Other stage on friday. The former put on a great show, I thought (despite never hearing any of their tunes before). The latter was amazing - incredible band that seemed to be able to make every noise imaginable.

A decent campfire. Last time we were crammed into dragon field and there was no space for one. I'd forgot how nice cooking the mud off your boots, chatting shit and getting wasted was.

Saturday night, G Stage. Was there from 5pm, but Bong Ra and then Andy C to close was stomping. The following night of debauchary in the tent of sin was good fun too.

Sunday was a wash out :( Didn't see anything except my mate rob in the late'n'live. Slept for 17 hours on and off. Luckily we were leaving late enough to be able to strike camp without any rain.

It was great to meet all of Bluestreak, Reveran_M etc's mates - lovely bunch of people.

Just waiting for a khan's curry now :)

Would have loved to have been there but I only got to bed at 7:30 on Saturday morning, then the rain on Saturday made me too meh to move before I started work at 11pm.

The mud wasn't too bad, it was the rain that did it for me. Two years ago we had glorious weather after the storm so parts of the site dried up enough to make it all bearable. This year the continuous rain made it more of a trial.

Fourth load of washing in now, almost there :)

Roll on the Glade :)

Just got in at last!

I've barely slept for what seems like weeks, I'm knackered, muddy but happy - and there's a big foamy bath with my name on it coming right up!

Amen, seen a bit of Squarepusher in the Glade and it was fucking awesome.

Besides I dont think there is any water left in the sky, it was all used up for Glasto, Glade has to be bone dry (agian).

just home after leaving at 1100. Absolute chaos trying to get on a coach, stewards and police did nothing apart from blame national exress for not organising/stewarding the queues. wankers.
Then the driver decided that he'd been on the road too long and stopped halfway to london to await a back up driver - who was disatched from Cardiff.

aaaaargghhh.

Was ok apart from today, calf muscles have expanded to twice their usual size after all that walking through the mud.

Was disappointed with everything I saw at the Pyramid and the Other stage (esp Bjork). But thoroughly enjoyed plenty of acts who were performing on more sheltered stages.

Was good to meet a few of you as well.

what would you like them to have done?

camera dropped in deep mud
boots filled with water despite being under van
cupboard door fell off.
tripped over folding chair some clueless cunt had just dumped on the floor, landing face first in the fucking mud.
lost my voice.
my ulcers have ulcers.

had fun :)

It was either Friday or Saturday morning 1ish? I was wankered but found that some awesome music suddenly got replaced by an hour of really odd eclectic stuff. I bitched lots about this. Quite a few people told me it was your set.

I also vaguely remember meeting you for the first time in years for about a minute and a half :D

Dub - sorry I missed ya call on Thursday mate and sorry I missed ya for the rest of the festival as well

hope it was all good and cheers for Original Nuttah, it was wikkid

nah, we did thursday... but it was a bit odd :)

Thursday morning? Ah it wasn't you then. I feel less guilty for the hour long moody speeded up rant about the twat DJing. I loved the silent rave though. I was so cynical on the way in but had so much fun once I was in there. It's a brilliant concept. When you want a break, you can just sit down, roll a joint and chat normally
