Glastonbury 2007 pt2: the festie!

right i am comfortable in front of the telly since about 1700

i have just watched the babyshambles and thought they, or better say, pete doherty was pretty pretty good. added bonus were of course the kate moss moments (she is wearing black long leather trousers) ;) no but seriously that guy has the right music charisma and a good voice.

whilst lilly allan is utter rubbish isn't she?

amy whitehouse concert rocked! the two presenters in the afternoon over at bbc 2 sucked too (the one big bloke and the preggers blonde) completly rubbish. and the pigeon detectives seem cool. i never heard about them before...

right back to the telly...

my 2p worth..

i am not impressed that the kooks front guy was wearing a cardie. what is wrong with all these clean cut bands (the guy from the editors the same) to look as if they are on an ordinary night out.

my discovery of the evening was patrick wolf. what a cool, excentric type! :)

the kooks are shit, but there's nothing wrong with cardigans. and i thoguht lily allen was alright. she has a good voice.

Fuck The Kooks, fuck The Killers, fuck Babyshambles, fuck Lily Allen, fuck The Fratellis, fuck Bloc Party, fuck The Editors, fuck 'em all...

Even accepting that rock 'n' roll as any form of real rebellion is long dead and rotting, The Stooges have got to be at least twice the average age of that lot, but have got twice the energy, twice the attitude, and just completely shat over each and every one of those bands.

Word

I was right at the front for Iggy and The Stooges and can confirm that it was incredibly, stunningly great, he is the best front man I've seen in years...
It was a very special moment :)

Good work Winkybag: our reporter at the scene of the crime! :)

Did anybody happen to see Africa Express? On paper that looks as if it had the potential to inject a bit of genuine spontaneity...

I couldn't agree more.

Did you get up on to the stage?:D

Great performance from Iggy, i thought the Killers & Artic Monkeys were v. dull. (watching it on TV)

eta -1st fatality reported this morning. 26 yr old man. :(

We were right at the front for the Stooges and they were fucking brilliant: loud, scary, bonkers and full of energy.

Iggy made Pete Dohery look as dangerous as a piece of carrot cake.

Wonderful stuff.

I didn't manage to climb onto the stage: by time I made it to the barrier, it was pretty busy and there was no chance of making it up :(
Still buzzing from the whole Iggy experience though
AND, it was the most well-mannered mosh pit I've ever been in :D

Nice one, ed. I would've loved to be there for that. Great to hear him backed by the best band he's had since, erm ... The Stooges, funnily enough. Iggy leaping into the crowd backed by all that fuzzy wah-wah guitar.

Can't beat it.

sory all you iggy fans, but Madness in the Lost Vagueness Ballroom rocked! An amazing gig - prob my best so far. I *heart* LV.

Skanking until 4am in the mud - can't beat it!

(except my bloody legs hurt like holy fuck this morning and I lost a teenager)

:D :D
I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but..:D !

(P.S. I do hope they turn up soon, and none the worse for their experience)

I couldn't be arsed doing another night and came home today.

I might start a petition to tarmac Glastonbury :D

Same here. :D

I made two trips to my car to load up this morning and I intended to go back to watch Shirley Bassey before driving home tonight.

When I finally got to the car (mile and a half away) for the second time, my legs wouldn't let me walk back so I jumped in the car and drove home.
Just had a welcome bath.

Best bits for me were Arcade Fire and the time when everyone had 3 legs  :D

Calling Bob2oo9.....were you at the front of the iggy crowd and he came down and gave you a hug and kiss?????

im sure it was you!!!!!

Right well thats us home too. A combination of tiredness and bees' brother fucked his ankle up really bad and currently can't walk :( so we abandoned ship

That has to be my best ever glasto. The mud was a pain but a great laugh :D I lost my phone on the first night (the first phone I've ever lost in fact) as I was too wankered for my own good

i missed loads of urbanites but we missed the thurs night meet to go to PROD

the new urbs I met *waves* were great, and a big shout out to DrRingDing :D

was great spending time with some of my best mates in the world again, esp JTG and Derv and Skim, who was the best playmate a trash head can have

We're in bed, clean and mud free watching the highlights on BBC1 wondering how the fuck we saw so little music and yet didn't stop all weekend

Will sort photos out later, i didn't take many, kinda forgot how to use a camera tbh

Yep i saw Africa Express , they were very good too , a bit of a mishmash of different styles , bit of very classy beatboxing , some more typical West African jazz , solo drumming , guest appearance by Billy Bragg . sadly for them there were not that many people watching so the atmosphere could have been better.

Highlight ......... Stooges , the stage invasion was fantastic

Iggy - " OOps I think we are having a bit of a moment "

Missed the Stooges on Saturday - hope I can still see it on 'catch up tv on demand' :)

From what I saw (on tv) the only thing that really made me think 'fuck I wish I was there right now' was The Gossip last night - the saying is true: it wasn't over till the fat lady sang. And how!

Apart from that, Arcade Fire were alright, and I was impressed by Arctic Monkeys. Er, that's about it.

Can anyone explain to me why people take flags on 12 foot poles to wave at the Pyramid Stage? Even on tv they irritated me - if I was actually there trying to watch the bands it would really piss me off.

I was going to leave after the Who, but gave up on them about 2 tracks in (not for me at all) and decided on the spur of the moment to schlep my way up to the Other Stage to see what all the fuss was about.

Fuck me, that was a gig to leave on!! Awesome.
