F1 2017

Aston Martin would need to build an independent engine (they do build a V12 now) most of their cars used an AMG engine which is really a Mercedes and I don't think Mercedes would allow them to badge an AMG as Aston Martin

MClaren must have deep pockets out of somewhere

:)
They do, they are backed by Mansour Ojjeh and the Bahrain wealth fund, so funds are not a real problem. Although I'm not sure they will keep funding them if they don't get there act together quickly after the new concorde agreement

true but if Alonso managed to get another big pay increase after removing 100 million pounds worth of sponsorship and no many results

its a bit :hmm:

edit*

he was already the best paid driver on the grid
:D

As mentioned above, I think Dietrich Mateschitz has had enough of F1 and I'm not really sure we will see him still owning a team after 2021, I think Red Bull will still be a sponsor and maybe even a title sponsor just not an owner anymore.

Aston Martin are not a rich company and I'm not sure they have all the money to build a new engine for F1, let alone becoming a manufacture team, it will be interesting to see how a develops

Alonso will be looking for north of $40 million

That McLaren is a strong car Alonso got a massive hit, I'm really surprised he is still running, can't see him getting to the end of the race
