So I think that means there is just 3 hours difference where I live as the clocks went back here a couple of weeks ago in some parts of Brazil, we don't change our clocks here, but banks, government office etc just open 1 hour later

That's just weird.

I'm not a huge fan of messing around with clocks. Most of the appliances in my house stay on GMT, or winter time, all year round.

But as for certain offices opening earlier or later, I think I'd prefer the clock change as it's only something I'd have to pay attention to two days a year.

It doesn't bother me I have almost nothing to do with government offices and banks are open 24/7 with the 'net and machines, if you live in the tropics the sun rises and set about the same time all year around, so there is no need to change clocks for daylight saving (if we changed our clocks sunset would be around 4:30 throughout the summer) and offices open later so everyone is on the same business hours nationwide. People who don't live with it thinks its strange but people here have a different concept of time it drives people who don't live here crazy, a meeting set for 9am may not start until 11am, its the way of the northeast, things get done when they get done and there is no point rushing or worrying about it :)

When I have friends visiting from abroad or the south of Brazil they never get it when we leave 1 or 2 hours late for things, I have to explain when they say "were we not invited for dinner at 8pm" I reply "if you get there at 8 the people will not be dressed or have anything cooked, so if you want to cook the dinner we can get there at 8 and cook the dinner while they are getting dressed" they get the point when we turn up at 10pm and the people we are visiting have just started to prepare the meal :)

My daughter's working in Madrid this year, and is finding the Spanish norm is to go out to eat late in the evening when all good Brits are banking the fires and closing the shutters. She says that now she understands why people want a siesta.

:)

I was talking about this last night at the bar and was reminded of the classic time the local council set off the fireworks to bring in the new year in 2004 or 5 at 20 minutes past midnight
Time is very fluid when it isn't the most important thing :)

Meanwhile back in F1 where hundredths of a second are important, Bernie must think he isn't getting enough press, his latest 2 comments are that he wants 40 centimeter walls build around the corners of tracks to stop drivers going outside track limits and that Ferrari should employ someone to work alongside Maurizio Arrivabene to help-out with the day to day running of the team. The first will not go down very well with drivers as it could result in one or more of them being killed and I'm sure his second suggestion has gone down like a cup of cold sick at Ferrari :)

Brawn may return to F1
In an interview with the Telegraph (worth a read) Brawn says he is open to the idea of returning to F1 but not as a team manager. He claims Ferrari have made endless overtures but he doesn't want the job. Its kind of a contradiction to what he was reported to have said a few days ago about not wanting to be involved in F1 politics, but that's F1 I guess, full of contradictions.

Get well soon Frank
Frank Williams is in hospital suffering from pneumonia not good for someone who is 74. Apparently he has been ill since the Monza race, I guess that means Clair will not be seen at this weekends Mexico GP.

In other news
Vettel calls Alonso an idiot . Also one of the Mercedes team was robbed at gunpoint while traveling to the track in a "chauffeur-driven vehicle" not sure many of the team get those, I wonder who it was (this sort of thing tends to happen at the Brazilian GP, bloody Mexicans not even coming over here and yet robbing people before they get here, what are our robbers going to do now ).

Interesting comment on the radio this morning from a board member of banco do brasil who sponsor Nasr, he said when asked about Nasr moving to Force India "I'm not sure the board would want to be associated with that team with the current ownership" i.e. one owner in Jail and the other wanted

seeming as their slight dodgy dealings with petrobras can link up again

petrobras are also corrupt as fuck, well all publicly owned companies in Brazil are dirty, petrobras was the biggest company in the southern-hemisphere but has lost much of its value because of the corruption, they are responsible for the car-wash trials
