F1 2016

Rumors around Brawn and Boullier
An interesting rumor that could see Brawn back in F1 is doing the rounds and maybe we will hear more about it during this weekends racing. It claims that Eric Boullier could be moving from McLaren to Ferrari and that Ross Brawn could be taking his place at McLaren. If the speculation about Ron Dennis being pushed out is true, I could see it happening. Ross was offered a job with-in F1 that he turned down, it involved setting out a future path for the sport and shaping the regulations, but that would involve lots of politics and that is the part of formula 1 he least likes. When asked "do you want to come back and do a bit of engineering?' his reply was "I could be tempted".

How good would it be to see Brawn take control of McLaren F1 team and bring in Allison as his number two, one can but dream :)

Ooh.

If it came to pass, and with Mr Newey at Red Bull said to be all over next year's rules, maybe ol' Toto could have his hands full next year.

Which would be a good thing.

So it seems that we have a new "Max" rule, "any change of direction under braking which results in another driver having to take evasive action will be considered abnormal and hence potentially dangerous to other drivers. Any such move will be reported to the stewards" makes it black and white really as the telemetry will show braking and steering input

Not really sure that is a new rule or appeasement to some of the drivers

So Rosberg will be on the inside at the first corner, will he try and push Lewis wide like Lewis did to him last year, could we have a Senna - Prost first corner incident. Nico has nothing to loose

The race can't be won in the first corner but the championship could be

Honestly, Lewis's starts have been so bad, I think that Nico will scoot into the first corner and Hammy will be fighting to stay in front of the Ferraris.

What about the Red Bulls?
I liked your post but only by mistake ;)
I was assuming they'll sail straight past Lewis in Nico's slipstream, while Lewis stirs a gearbox pudding.

The way he's been starting, Lewis might finish the first lap around 4th or 5th.

I hope I'm wrong.

:)

I hope you are wrong as well :)

Did you notice how far the Ferrari's are behind on pace?
1. Lewis Hamilton GBR Mercedes-Mercedes 1m 34.999s
2. Nico Rosberg GER Mercedes-Mercedes 1m 35.215s
3. Daniel Ricciardo AUS Red Bull-TAG Heuer 1m 35.509s
4. Max Verstappen NED Red Bull-TAG Heuer 1m 35.747s
5. Kimi Raikkonen FIN Ferrari-Ferrari 1m 36.131s
6. Sebastian Vettel GER Ferrari-Ferrari 1m 36.358s
Both Kimi and Vettel have been vocal about their lack of power in the press, I think Ferrari are falling apart (relatively) and we will for sure see changes at the top before the 2017 season starts.

I use first row normally. Do you know a good one?
I usually watch via Vipbox and get a good stream, you have to close the ads and pop-ups but once you go full screen you should be fine, they also have a number of choices from the sky links at the top to others further down (you don't need to download anything so if you see something that say "download" it will be an advert)

We were just talking about the last race in Japan and the fact that Danny Ric started with two wheels outside his pit box, he then moves very slightly right and then left, I didn't notice this last weekend and don't remember it coming up in the commentary. Apparently he did it to avoid the water that caused Lewis so much trouble at the start. Lewis had asked the FIA if he could place his car slightly to the right to avoid the water before the start and was told no, Danny didn't ask anyone and just did it.

This clip on youtube shows it.

This director has attention deficit syndrome. Jumping around like a mexican jumping bean on national jumping day in jumpington.

I can't even imagine how bad US race coverage is.

The usual standard is 2:1 TV to advertising. Say, five minutes of commercials after every 10 minutes of TV.

But much more frequent than that.
