F1 2016

So Red Bull have the best tyres to start the race but Mercedes have the best tyres for the long run

Ideal scenario to the first corner (for Lewis)
...gets a good start, Rozzers ok, Red Bulls get a flyer and sneak into 2nd and 3rd.
Hold that position to the end of the race (or Rozzer gets one of those "mechanicals")

#JobDone

...probably not going to happen though.

The next race in Brazil isn't a great track for Lewis he needs to back Nico up into the Red Bulls here and go to Brazil with a much smaller gap

If at least one of the Ferraris can get with the program that would make it interesting.

Rosberg showed character to dig deep at the death when the pressure was on. Good for him if he does win the drivers championship this weekend, however yes I would prefer them to go to the last race with both still having an opportunity to take the title and then Lewis winning it in a straight fight. Nico is a very good driver, but Lewis has a bit of x-factor, not quite Senna like but in that ball park.

I wonder if anyone on Lewis's team told him if his spins and stops the session he would be pole and Nico would be 4th, they must have thought about it, they look at everything

McLaren new sponsor
It looks likely that BP (who also own Castrol) will become a new sponsor with McLaren new year. The company has a long history with-in motorsport and seen it market share fall greatly over the last fer years in part due to the Deepwater Horizon disaster in 2010. From what I have read it doesn't look like they will become the major sponsor or team partner but as the McLarens look sparse at the moment a little color and some extra cash can only be good for the team. Castrol have a very long history with Honda in motorcycle racing, stretching back to the late 1950's.

Can Red Bull help Lewis
Last week in the USA the Red Bull team decided on a different strategy going for Super-soft with Danny Ric (red stripped tyre) to start the race while Mercedes went with the soft (yellow stripped tyre) and it worked out very well for them with them moving into 2nd place after the start, The Mercedes getting a free pit-stop under the VSC meant Danny Ric lost his 2nd position. We see Red Bull this weekend starting both cars on the super-soft and again we have a long run to the first corner, can one or both overtake Nico from the start, that is what Lewis needs as he needs Nico to finish worst than 2nd in one of the remaining 3 races if he has any chance to win the championship.

Good evening Dr Limejuice :)
The tyre choice and run to the first corner could be the highlight of the race :hmm:

I do like the evening (our time) races. I'm going to crack open a beer for the start! I'm praying Lewis doesn't balls it up because it will be a lame end to the season if Nico wins the championship today.

Its worth watching.

A friend has just gone crazy as both Mercedes left the pits on red stripped tyres and thought they were cheating :) LOL
