F1 2016

good morning :)
I see after just a couple of bad races for Lewis the press are talking about him taking a year off in 2017
After a couple of mechanical failures Hamilton might need a break?

Journalistic logic baffles me. A driver taking a sabbatical will fix engineering reliability issues?

Did they say anything on Sky about the rumors at Ferrari of James Allison taking over from Maurizio Arrivabene?

Verstappen is a real talent, little wonder Red Bull wanted to get him off the drivers market and keep him in house.

Nico will have Red Bulls all over him during the first few laps of the race, it will be interesting to see how he handles that, Lewis needs a flying start tomorrow and keep out of the way in front.

A boring yawn lead from the front from start to finish please.
Yes I'm hoping for an uninteresting GP just because Lewis deserves a break.

Maurizio Arrivabene looked like a man under pressure, maybe there is some truth to the rumors:confused:

A boring race for 1st place (I hope), but I think they'll be some interesting racing behind

Yeah, they asked him (Arrivabene) about it, on the F1 Show.
Thanks I try and catch that show on the 'net somewhere. I'm sure he said it was bullshit, but the Italian press have been covering it, they are saying that now Marchionne is also CEO as well as Chairman that he now has the power to remove Arrivabene and replace him with Allison.

I always thought Arrivabene's appointment was strange as he came from Philip Morris and not from with-in the Ferrari ranks, he was a member of the Formula 1 Commission (as a sponsors representative), so had close links to Bernie and Ferrari's top management.

There's not much to see; he gave the question pretty short shrift.

TBH do Ferrari really need yet another new team principle??

If they are not winning their answer (or rather Marchionne answer) would be yes. I think the problem is Arrivabene was never the right person for the job but the right person wasn't available at the time. This all stems back to Montezemolo being pushed out.

Enjoyed the red bull battle in qualifying. Verstappen was seriously impressive, loved Ricciardo's response on his last lap to put him in his place. It's a dynamic between the 2 a bit like there was when the young upstart Jorge Lorenzo first became Valentino Rossi's teammate in MotoGP - Catalunya saw some fireworks in 2009, more of the same tomorrow please.

why was Lauda saying they had handicapped lewis for the last 2 races

or was it a lost in translation piece on his channel 4 post quali comments

:hmm:

got to say fair play to Ricardo for rising to the occasion

He was just pointing out that the team had provided a substandard package and it wasn't any fault of Lewis's, the reason for the problems on both occasions was a technical fault that just shouldn't have been there and it handicapped Lewis so he was unable to do his job properly.

I understand your question as there has been a lot of bullshit written and spoken about the team holding Lewis back deliberately, which is complete bollocks, although one does wonder if this would have happened if Mercedes hadn't changed members of the Drivers mechanical teams around, little things like that can allow other things to fall through gaps. I guess we will only find out if and when Mercedes explain what went wrong with his car on those two occasions.

Good morning :)
Ferrari need to get it together today and overtake the Red Bulls in the race, the team are under massive pressure to perform or we could see changes at the top very soon, they are a public company now and success in F1 means more car sales.

Yes, you can't win the race at the first corner but you can loose it if your slow off the grid

with many young drivers their confidence is bigger than their ability, I don't think that is the case with Max
