England Cricket 2015

Was telling the 'mind the windows' story earlier with lots of good humour :D

Played Chef

Excellent stuff from the chef. Culpable with the run-out by all accounts. So needs to make it a Daddy to make amends. But bat the day first and he will have done splendidly.

Good stuff, and a monkey off his back, hopefully.

He is a beauty. Another massive failure by Surrey - bring him over, then fuck him over. The amount of carry he used to get on an oval wicket, even as a proper young'un

It's the end for him, which is a real shame.
Stupid experiment, now Lyth (presumably) or whoever has only two matches to get themselves ready for the Ashes, against tough opposition. And in Lyth's case having not player any FC cricket for the best part of six months.

Anyway it looks like both Cook and Anderson are starting to get some form back so that's good. That said unless Ballance makes some runs England could be in real danger.

England wont get out of this.....

Likewise, trott will not play test cricket again.

England have huffed and puffed against a mediocre Windies team in a series that will end 1-1. NZ and the Aussies will be chomping at the bit to get at us..

England could very well get out of this. Ballance doesn't wobble easily and this is his opportunity to show what he's made of and really cement his place at No.3. Stokes is perfectly capable of scoring decent runs in this match.....and as for Butler?........I also think Broad due a score since his wobbles.

As for Trott..you can't really judge him on these very low scores and I don't think the management would give up on him quite so easily.....even if he is ready for the knackers yard.

We have potential. If we can scrap a win out of this I think it would do the team better than just swanning in and getting easy wins.

Then NZ will be full of themselves and expect a win, this will be our time to slaughter them.

The game is undoubtedly entering a new period of volatility, as positions of power and influence start to shift, either by accident, design or a little of both

Not seen it mentioned on here yet but this bears keeping an eye. To be fair I have a good deal of sympathy for the other non big three nations, the Eng/Aus/India stitch up at the ICC last year stank, if there is a split Clarke and Srinivasan are a good deal to blame.

Not sure how many times I can listen to Geoff Boycott saying we should've picked two spinners.

Couple of things on that.

1. What else do you judge him on? It's not just the very low scores, it's the very poor shots.

2. He came back in following a decent year in CC, but had a very poor year in tests before he left the team. He's not been that good for around three years now. He's past his best, and doesn't have any recent international form to back him up.

He's gone.

He's only got in once and then converted that to a gritty half century.

Six innings, 72 runs at an average of 12.

And some stinkers of shots to get out to. He's all over the place.

I'm all for giving a player a chance. But surely that's his chance over and out. He doesn't look like he's about to burst into form. He looks like his technique and mind are gone.

It's despicable. Giles Clarke, the man who sold English cricket to Sky, is despicable. He has done, and continues to do, enormous harm to the game both here and worldwide.

Anyone know of any acestream or sopcast links? There used to be a cracking stream for tests on wiziwig but I dunno how to find it now.

Lead is 191, probably not enough. If WI bat half-decently they should win. Pray for rain (unlikely) or Saint Jimmy to deliver a miracle.

I still have no idea what is going to happen in this test.

Blackwood is obviously the key man here.
