Corrupt policeman used job to start sexual relationships

A corrupt Merseyside police officer abused his position to start sexual relationships with vulnerable women.

PC Ben Murphy stopped drivers for motoring offences, then offered to punish them for less serious alternatives.

The married dad-of-three used the often thankful motorists' personal details to contact them by phone and in person.

The creep researched his victims on Facebook and SnapChat, even sending one disgusted woman a picture of his penis.

PC bought TV porn while child lay dead in house

A Met Police officer has admitted buying pornography at the family home of a dead child while he waited for an undertaker to arrive.

PC Avi Maharaj was on duty alone at the south London home when he used the family's Virgin TV account and spent £25.96 on 11 February 2018.

It is understood he made four purchases - at least two of which were made when the child's body remained in the house.

"A grieving father’s last impression of his son before he killed himself was that he’d been watching porn after a policeman used the family’s internet to download it while guarding his body ...

Addressing Westminster Magistrates Court, Pc Avi Maharaj's actions were described by his defence counsel Edmund Gritt as "completely insensible".

The lawyer added that "without question, his career as a police officer is terminated".

Pc Maharaj pleaded guilty to fraud at the same court on 16 July 2019 but his sentencing has now been referred to Southwark Crown Court (which has greater sentencing powers) on a date to be decided.

PC charged over inappropriate behaviour claims

A PC has been charged with misconduct in public office over claims of inappropriate behaviour towards two women.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct said it had investigated complaints that a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officer had "abused his position for sexual purpose".

PC Jonathan Ryan, 41, is due before Warrington Magistrates' Court on 27 August.

I now this is not the important part of this story. But I am confused by the need to leave him there to guard the house.

The body was still there, awaiting the undertakers/private ambulance to take it away, the parents were taken to a relative’s/friend’s and he was just left as you can’t really just leave the body hanging around (not a pun, have no idea how the poor lad topped himself).

Ah right. For some reason I though the body had already been moved.
