Earth - The Bees Made Honey In The Lion's Skull

I love you sometimes urban, you can vote for indie bollocks but still put what is basically a doom album in the top 10. This is great and fully deserves to be one of those albums that *mutter* transcends genre *shuffles feet* and crops up in music collections of people who don't normally listen to doom.

finally - the good shit :)

Here's the other urbanite who had fennesz as album of the year. There can't have been that many votes :D

plus a couple of other nominations at lower points in the scale. about 35-40 people voted, and best of all: only four or five only named one album. i'll let them out themselves if they want to.

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular

Student disco music. Promos don't sell on ebay. Go and buy the Earth album instead FFS.

Fuck Buttons - Street Horrrsing

Wonderful glorious droney electronica to rumble yer guts. One of my personal favourites!

TV On The Radio - Dear Science

Some even rate this as better than Desperate Youths, Bloodthirsty Babes! Harmonic art pop with drive!

Joint 2

Fleet Foxes - s/t

Kind of baroque indie rock from Seattle, intelligent, though not as clever as it wants to be. Many people's second favourite of the year!

Portishead - Third

It turns out, they are still relevant.

The fact that the top curve of the 3 and the loop of the P don't exactly line up annoys me.

Numero one!

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!

For once one of my favourites wins! Another great Bad Seeds record, as jubilant and dark as the rest. This sparks with life and fire and ire and wit. A deserved win IMO.

wow, i thought for a while i wasn't going to make it - i have a train to catch and have to leave in eight minutes...

now fight about it. this thread cost the taxpayer a lot of money today, make it worth their while :D

excellent work, bluestreak!

not as inspiring a list as previous years, i don't think, but some interesting stuff to investigate on there.

it was a pleasure. doing this satisfies a lot of high fidelity-style music geek OCD needs in me :D

10 Nurse With Wound - Huffin Rag Blues
11 Those Dancing Days - In Our Space Hero Suits

17 Shit & Shine - Kiss Mich Mein Leibe

That is a good list. I like Adem. One of his songs was in a Shane Meadows film.

I also like that you have put Los Campesinos at number 2!
