90s techno thread

digging through some of my lesser listened to LPs recently for the home office, I found this Hi-Ryze LP which is frankly the fucking business. I've no memory of buying it or ever listening to it before though... the same guy released some essential bleep as Ubik

this is so good.

Got this UR double pack on atm, this one is brilliant -

I was wondering who the rapper is, and it turns out it's Robert Hood. There's some amazing footage of the UR 1992 European tour with hood as the hypeman.

oh yes!

this one from 1990 has probably the lowest bassline in a UK track from that time. heavier than SUAD, who as much as i think are brilliant and i love them.

play it loud over a big sub. proto jungletechno.

Boo Williams endangered species

love this, proper metallic funk

you can certainly see where people like Vogel and Landstrumm got their influence from.

I know Jim Masters and he has invited me to a facebook techno page, seems like everyone from steve poindexter to rick hopkins is posting on there, since I have expanded my knowledge of 90s techno no end, I even might try and save for some decks and go mad on discogs.

Here is one or two that I really, really dig right now, one from early 90s, the other from the late 90s, enjoy.

It’s insane that group isn’t it? I guess lockdown has it’s benefits. DJs are bored, so they’re in that group to reminisce and talk about their allotments. So many legends on there!

Heh, Rick is an old mate, he’d be chuffed at you listing him alongside Steve Poindexter!
You should also check out World Of Echoes group, Francois Kevorkian’s group. Loads of NY disco legends on there. Bruce Forest is an admin and a prolific poster

Jim only started it last weekend as he got kicked out of another 'techno' group. he's done loads to invite just about everyone who's anyone
