2019 UK Championship (snooker)

Robertson is struggling to be arsed, which surprises me. He might be playing a lesser opponent, but you'd think all the top players would want to dispense with their early rounds as quickly as possible. He attempted a ludicrous plant earlier, when safety was far easier.

Nigel ‘00-147’Bond beat Trump today. Great seeing some of the old timers rolling back the years.

In a frame or the match!?

Ffs, just got in from work scrabbling around to see today's matches and having fuck all joy :(

ohh, BBC REd button is on Sky981 if anyone wants John Higgins vs Ian Burns - just started

Sky410 Eurosport1 - same match - different commentary

Williams was utter shite yesterday, other than one absolutely sublime, length-of-the-table corner pot of a red at a tight angle and at high speed.

I've not watched any today, but I was very surprised to see the Bond-Trump result. Surely that can be inspiration for the next 007 outing.

Just into fourth frame Higgins v Burns. First frame was about 50minutes long and it's been a tough watch as as gash as Higgins has been playing, the shits won every frame so far

I'll confess I haven't watched much since Monday, but it'll use up most of my weekend.

It's interesting (but ultimately meaningless) that Nigel Bond is the only Englishman in the last eight.

Is it known yet if Ding's done enough to cement his top 16 rating for the Masters next month?

So Ding in the final, who's next?

I'm hoping for a Ding/Allen final. I like Stephen Maquire but reckon Allen will be the one to give Ding a fight.

Steven Maquire v Mark Allen, fucking great to watch so far.

Enjoyed that a great deal. Always rooting for Maguire when I see him playing. Glad he's in the final.

Shame he's down 8-4 at the mid session tonight. He seems to be less focused than he was in the match against Allen.
This said, Ding is playing very well tonight.

indeed - I thought Maguire was on his way back with those two back to back centuries but sadly not

well done both

I like the guy, but I'm never fully confident when Ding's playing for some reason. I remember his WC semi with Trump in 2011 and thinking the two of them were the natural heirs apparent. Hopefully he can do well at the Masters and the WCs.

I've got tickets for the Trump-Murphy first round match at the Masters. I hope the Magician brings his A-game, because he's likely to need it.
