2016 album recommendations - too soon?

Final one today - I'm actually really enjoying the new Panic! At The Disco record, even thought it's a bit overwrought and silly. :)

Loving the new Richmond Fontaine , 'You Can't Go Back If There's Nothing To Back To'

Seeing them tonight:thumbs: Definitely my fave of the year so far

already posted this but just finally got the record to properly listen to it, The Lavender Flu "Heavy Air", amazing double LP, it contains both weird guitar noise experiments and many pop hits played backwards, this is about the most pop moment on the record, it has an awesome guitar solo

there's lots of weirder stuff and textures tho, it is an album to listen to all the way through, which i normally never do.

September Girls - Age of Indignation

Cursing the Sea (hints of MBV, Mazzy Star, Skeletal Family, and not surprisingly Big Star) was in my top two albums in 2014 so I've been looking forward to this. Haven't had time to pick a track to put up yet, but this is the best from the first album:

No mention of the Anohni album here yet?

I wasn't totally convinced by the first two singles, but the album as a whole is pretty darn good. (sadly the only things you can stream on bandcamp are said two singles). Not the most cheerful listen, pretty harrowing in fact.

A definite grower. She's taken on some big issues!

Antony & the Johnsons' output since I Am a Bird Now didn't do much for me, but both those tracks sound pretty good to me.

I'd only half-registered that Cavern of Antimatter (Tim Gane from out of Stereolab's band) have a new one out - track on their website are very promising... also a remix by Karen Gwyer who is wonderful.

I've had it on repeat since last Friday. She is the Grayson Perry of music. I am grateful she exists, I saw her at the Barbican a few years ago, she is amazing.

So far, this is the 2nd album after Pusha T's that I would nominate for the album of the year.
