Your vote for the 2015 General Election

I should imagine it's cos the BNP have imploded and they're all voting UKIP. It isn't like the conditions that create the far right, or the bourgeois parties that use racism and nationalism to divide us (like Labour who I see you've decided to vote for) have gone away.

Yes, I am going to vote Labour, but not because I love the fuckers, I don't. I was discussing this at work today, it seems that the 'NO' faction are going to get behind the Labour party, to block the SNP as much as possible. This is going to be the most interesting election for decades.

They've not disappeared, they're just off the electoral radar for a while, until a "new direction" is decided on, and bearing in mind that parts of the far right have no interest in electoral politics.

They seem to be even more divided than usual, which is good.

That kind of depends. Last time they were as divided saw the birth of Griffin's "turn to electoral politics", and while 2010 saw the BNP savaged electorally, a lot of that savaging was down to a sophisticated and sustained canvassing operation by an alliance of opponents, and to people swinging behind a Labour vote to keep the BNP out. We shouldn't be complacent about the far right. Ever.

As with everything, there is something in the BNP 'manifesto' on which I agree with the BNP more than UKIP. Had I the power, I would put pretty much an absolute block on immigration, particularly importing skills. If companies with skill shortages were stopped from bring those skills in, they would have no option but do what they should be doing, reducing youth unemployment by training people. Youth unemployment is a tragedy.

The problem with that, of course, is the "skills gap" that would leave, so (at best, with employers doing their bit rather than spending years lobbying the govt to reverse such legislation) we'd be looking at 5-7 years of under-performing economically, before that skills gap would start to close. Could people survive that skills gap? Probably. Would it be pleasant? No.

Is there really an option though? The hit has to be taken sometime, so why not now? It is beyond disgraceful that our young people are unemployed because employers import, rather than train. Perhaps it could be legislated that if you import, you have to train the same number of people. A lot of folk who come to work in the UK have no intent to stay forever, so it could be a good 'fit'.

I have heard this claim a lot. I don't find it interesting, I find it boring and very depressing.

First time voter (20 years old) and couldn't agree more. The more I see of the election campaigns and the leaders talking more shit, the more I feel depressed knowing that one of these clowns will run our country.

We are less than two months away and I still have no clue what way my vote will go.

Yeah, damn and blast those immigrants! Why not stop people from moving from city to city or even moving home? Fucks sake.

Well any possibility I might have entertained a few weeks ago voting Labour again, if just to unseat the Tories, can sod right off when I hear some of the crap coming from the likes of Reeves. I know I shouldn't be suprised, it's not new.

So, spoilt paper it is.

Just looked at the thingie they posted: The Tory candidate does not even live here... and again, no Communists.

I'm never that fussed by the concept of the candidate having to live within the constituency...kind plays into all the usual FPTP bollux about voting for the person etc...but, that said, the fact that the vermin can't even find someone who lives South of the river FFS. That's a different city up there.

Anyone think that overall turnout will be above average this time around?
be interesting to see the scottish turnout and compare it to the turnout for indyreff.

but also, its an interesting election, all a little bit whey, little bit woo

so you might expect more people to have a go as it seems so up in the air your vote counts for a change
