Who will win?

Watching 'The Rest is Politics' livestream... pretty good so far.. - better than much of the General Election night coverage on the main channels..

right, footy over. That went quite well. Moves down the left kept leading to goals and the worst of the capitalist organisations took one hell of a beating, so I am now more optimistic.

It's not the beer I've started on, honest guv

Presumably no actual exit polls till something like 2 am?

Or do they do them before polls close??

this is well tense -- i have a bad feeling about this. trump to win in michigan and arizona seems very likely. but as ever pennsylvania is the big one. it's going to be utterly devastating if harris wins the popular vote by a + 1 million margin but still loses the EC cos of a very tight win for trump in pennsylvania

yeah - was thinking it was early for an exit polls. Was instantlly depressed when i saw that link!

Exit polls are usually very good at predicitng the result in the uk - not sure how accurate us ones are though.

29% of yanks are angry v 26% enthusiastic/satisfied. blah blah blah

Biden approval - 41-58

Thats fuck all use!

61% US's days are ahead of it. 34% behind. Thats quite surprising.

I read on the Guardian that the first state would be around 10pm UK time?

hmm think we all need correction cannot be called at 10 pm uk time as the first polls don't close to 6 pm est
from the guardian

The first polls tonight will close at 6 pm ET and are in the eastern counties of Indiana and Kentucky.

At 7pm ET, polls will close in Georgia, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, parts of Florida, and the rest of Indiana and Kentucky.

Thirty minutes later, at 7:30pm ET, polls in North Carolina, Ohio and West Virginia will close.

fuck me he looks old

Not just old, but frail and tired, too. His eyes look like pissholes in the snow and I think he's lost weight.

It was a wicked piece of misleading information - it was a poll, just not on the question we'e actually interested in!

In all that flap, I did have something open that said 'first polls close 1 hour 50'. So some eastern standard time state must have polls that close at 7 pm, with exit polls (presumably) soon after that.

I'm guessing it'll still be 'fuck knows' in the morning unless a lot of swing states have declared. It sounds like turnout is high, which is probably a positive indicator for Harris as I imagine extra people are more likely to turn out for her than they are for That Fucking Guy.
