What's in your glass?

fizzy pop, after last nights wine shenanigans I'm off the booze
We had a wine tasting at work last month, I stuck around afterwards to help tidy up and 'get rid of' the left over wines. The hangover I had the next day was so bad that I still can't drink wine

I hope my local Tesco gets some in again. "Spitfire" is very nice, but I sometimes want something with a bit more body. :)

i hadn't had it before i read on u75 someone singing its praises and say it went fabulously well with most food. i think that was you...?

The support-your-local-micro slurp: I could see myself drinking this regularly if it were reasonably-priced and packed a more serious punch. They're less than 5km from where I'm typing and it's 'backroads all the way' there and back, if you catch my meaning.

is it not 'reasonably priced' then?

tomorrow i'll be bottling my first 40 pints of home brewed ale. let's hope it's not atrocious! :)

A flat of 24 cans is the princely sum of 60-some dollars CDN. Now if it were 10% instead of 5%...

I love kits. I just can't fuck with the alcohol content, yeastily and sugar-ally to get what I want out of them. :(

formaldehyde. Unless something happens in the next couple years to make it better this is the worst malbec I've had. I'm just not digging what they're going for. I'm getting peat bog, getting punched in the stomach, sawdust.

how do you mean? You can mess with kits - try 2 kits one amount if water, that packs a mean punch :D

Jesus, I should have kept my glass empty. My heeeeed! And I'm going to the hair-butchers later :(

quite a nice petit chablis.

eta: sainsbury's in crystal palace has by far the worst wine selection i've ever encountered

:D

I just speculated on some Trappist-style ale - "Leffe Blonde".

The jury's out. It's a bit too flowery / fruity for me, but at least it doesn't taste like hymnbooks like another one I tried a while back.

definitely an acquired taste i've found, as are most blonde beers imo.

i'd recommend it. if i can't get any ale/bitter for whatever reason i usually go for that or* lowenbrau (the comparison doesn't make a lot of sense since lowenbrau isn't around much these days).

What were you doing eating a hymnbook?:D:D

We had a big Leffe Brun phase a couple of years ago. I think one night I had a bit too much of it and went off it. It's nice beer though, with a distinctive taste.

I went on a bit of an incense spending spree some years back (after a hedgehog left an incredibly smelly spraint on my carpet), and I actually have some frankincense and myrrh. :D

I only have the slightest recollection of being a choirboy..

Might sneak to the pub later for pernod, not sure yet.

pernod and black?

on a night out bumped into this couple who swore by it. i now swear against it.

is it me or whenever you have pernod does there always seems to be a bizarre surface tension on the top of said drink that seems to catch dust...?
