US House passes Obama's key healthcare reform

You acuse me of shilling for the Democrats, but the Democrats didn't even pursue what I wanted for a plan. As I've stated before this plan is only marginally better than nothing. And if you'll check post 73, I said this:

What I do know is that there's a long history of underfunding social programs, especially health programs. Look at the VA. Look at the health care on Reservations (mandated by treaty). They're funded at a lower level per capita than that of federal prisoners.

That's because you do most of the time. Not questioning the expenditure of money is very democrat.

This plan is only a slab of wet clay. Just watch.

Obama has always been for single payer and this is just the beginning. The congress will drive a wedge between the employers and the insurance companies whether it takes decades from now or not. Then all these people you think you care about will be fucked when the same irresponsible government that couldn't run a wedding will be in total control of health care.

...just as your's own you. But that's your business.

Well, can't argue with that. :(

But at least I don't yell out "Thank you sir may I have another!" while they do it.

Now fuck off an invade Iran.

Yeah. It'll be awful. Countries with socialised medicine have terrible life expectancy. Oh, wait ...

And you're just a shill for the Republicans. You've proved that time after time.

Comparisons like this only carry weight if all things are equal within the study. That means people in each country have to eat the same things, exercise the same, not prone to more diseases than another, culturally similar etc..

Even within my own state one section of it has higher instance of heart disease than the other regions. Pork barbecue and fast food is said to be a major reason.

There's pages of Obama opposing single payer. It's a matter of record, now put into concrete practice. This micro lad sounds unhinged.

Not only are you slow ^

but you still don't do any homework. :D

"I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program...I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And that's what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that's what I'd like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House." - Barack Obama, 2003

...and we have pages of him saying the opposite in the 7+ years since, and the pudding-proof of this bill.

Ever heard of playing the game of politics?

Understand looking around to see what works?

It'll happen, just needs time. And wise up so you'll be able to spot it when it does. :D:p

Where's the evidence that Americans, with their private health care, are any healthier than either British or Canadians, with their public health care? I don't think I'd argue that our govts are that much more efficient or responsible than yours, yet it's hard to see a big discrepancy in health outcomes in the three countries.

This is in the vein of being a secret muslim too i suppose? I think you've made a large arse of yourself here with your last few posts. I'm sure you used to be at least coherent in your bigotry. Now you're...on opiates or something?

No I think our country can blow more money and get away with it.

Legal ones?

Not falling for that one you democrat lackey.

There are some disturbing trends amongst the antis as well. Specifically, the Tea Party.

Rep. André Carson (D-Ind.) said tea party protesters opposed to the health care reform legislation yelled racial epithets at Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) and Lewis’ chief of staff earlier today. Carson said the taunts against Lewis came as the three men — all African-American — walked out of the Cannon House Office Building for votes this afternoon.
“They were shouting the N-word,” Carson said. “It was like a page out of a time machine.” Carson said Capitol Police surrounded the group and escorted them across the street to the Capitol.

And staffers and Members reported seeing Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) slurred for being a homosexual and a protester spitting on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.), another African-American lawmaker.

He said what he believes. Lots of politicians find reasons to suddenly change them. It's nothing new.

What bigotry? :hmm:

Yeah, it looks like it - personal debt through the roof due to spending on private health care feeding the larger debt problem, putting millions out of work, out of homes, out of health -yeah you're handling it allright.

Weird, you argue that he believes in single-payer then use an article demonstrating how he doesn't to back up your case.

Even more weird, you use it to argue that politicians are genuine in what they say but are dishonest liars. Joke posts here. Embarrassing.

No simpleapron. That article shows how he managed to change his mind when politics got involved.

So, if he used to believe in single payer, and he's now, changed his mind, as you argue, that means...come on - you can do it!

(Love the suggestion he was free of politics 7 years ago as well :D)
