Im on my shitty mobile. Here but see how thread is going. Its not about hooligans. Its about normal england fans being generally uncomfortable to be around. Post up all the YouTube vids of foreigners you like its irrelevant. And I mean today not 20 years ago
As I said in my previous post, I think you're years out of date, for the reasons I gave.

People were posting videos becuase of silly claims ddraig made, not because of what you've said.

More Scotland fans in the crowd last night, check the front row for another 'Jimmy Wig" and a couple of vintage Scotland shirts. :)

The legions of Spanish fans who came over for the Chelsea game earlier this season made most people in Clapham Junction feel very uncomfortable that night. Especially for the people who could partially translate the obscenities they were shouting en-masse.

What makes them uncomfortable to be around? I mean, there are lots of England fans I don't want to hang around with, but generally I wouldn't want to hang around with them anyway. I suppose the football can exacerbate stuff as it leads to heightened emotions, but again I'm honestly not sure English fans are that unique in this respect (based on nothing more than an assumption about the commonality of human experience, I'll grant you, but I'm sticking with it until proven otherwise! :p).

If you're talking general atmosphere rather than actual hooliganism I think it is fair to say there's a generally threatening edge to the atmosphere around British town centres on a weekend night that you don't find in a lot of places, and I imagine a large group of football fans, even if they're broadly well behaved, bring some of that with them. It's not unique to Britain though I'm sure - and it's really not specific to England.

no quite right, no delusion, no englund expects, no massive over hype, no disappointment, no jingoism, no blame finding, no anger, no clutching at straws saying 'we're still in it', no "if only, Suarez played for us" no pathetic digs about great players that aren't english not playing for you
no, none of it

Just a load of wannabe "celts" with swirly tattoos & a pathetic ABE fixation. For you, the pinnacle of being Welsh is when something bad happens to an England football team, there are so many of your type in Wales that your chances of independence = zero. Sad really.

what an inordinately and unnecessarily long post.

firstly, most of the people who "cry into their beers" are sofa fans who watch football once every two years, so who cares what they think?

secondly, I get all the stuff about inadequate coaching and bla bla bla, but it's got sod all to do with the end product. I mean you've quoted all those stats for Germany, Spain etc. but what are the equivalents for Uruguay, Argentina or Brazil? Sure it doesn't help that English coaches have bad habits and not enough qualifications, but it's certainly not standing in the way of producing 22 sodding players (as success at lower levels shows).

I'll keep this one short...

You are wrong on every aspect of above. You clearly are not reading my posts.

So you really do specifically want deckchair flinging? What makes this the highest of crimes, above, apparently, all other acts of footballing violence?

Is there a thing about deckchairs in Wales?

It wasn't even deck chairs. It was white plastic chairs the last time it happened. I remember a few of us arguing with the poster Chorton about it. He even had the tagline WPC Ultras. :D He was determined to cast the whole English support as violent huligans based on the same bit of zoomed in, constantly repeated footage. AFAIK that occurred at a qualifier.

It was at Chalwois IIRC. Spelt that wrong obv. I can't remember in what competition or qualifier though. Can't have been the Euros in 2000, I didn't join here til 2006. I think basing an argument for calling contemporary English football fans as a violent menace on a 6 year old chair lobbing incident, might have been too pathetic for Chorton. But I might be giving him too much credit. @chorton eh?

I remember as a lad growing up always wanting Wales to do well in the football. Then I started posting on here and realised how much Welsh fans despise England, so I don't really support them anymore. I don't go on their threads to gloat and take the piss though because that would be weird.

Ben Smith said:
"Just before I left for Brazil I interviewed Alessandro Del Piero, the former Italy great, and he said that while he was confident Italy would perform well in their first game against England, he was worried about the second one because history that was the game in which Italy struggled.

"Who knows why that is the case, but Italy have been really, really poor."
Well fucking great  :(

e2a: Um, this was supposed to go on the Italy v Costa Rica thread :hmm:

Blimey, could ddraig be any more of a dishonest, lying cunt on this thread. Even worse than he is normally

He doesn't even like football :D
thanks for the extra insults T! :)
not dishonest or lying!

e2a - where do i lie and be dishonest 'normally'? :hmm:
yes there will be clever cunts who spotted that i didn't deny being a cunt! and point it out
