I dont like the conflation of english nationalism (god save the queen, the flag waving, some of the fuck witted chants) that comes with supoprting the england team,so i tend to avoid watching it in pubs. I wouldn't go to an england game for the same reason.
But that doesn't mean it think the majority of fans are edl/bnp knuckle draggers - its just that im a lefty and far too clued up about the history of brit imperialism etc to ever be comfortable with it.

And that's just the country next door, with whom I happen to have personal ties and so know a bit about. Something tells me I'm going to find the same in Holland, Italy, Germany and any other country.
