Disappointed that no one else voted for The Dead C or Morton Feldman. Maybe I misunderstood Knotted 's earlier post and got my hopes up :(

I thought you would be please the Górecki made the top 20. The Feldman was a good call. Don't know Dead C, will look into it.

Didn't realise Sexorcisto was 1992, not listened in a very long time but would've felt required to give it a nostalgia vote if I'd realised. Also, blimey, talking about classics getting missed out, I would've expected someone else to vote for Prince!
Here's my list:

Pavement - Slanted and Enchanted
Ministry - Psalm 69
Manic Street Preachers - Generation Terrorists
Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northern Sky
Ice Cube - The Predator

Brutal Truth - Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses
Daisy Chainsaw - Eleventeen
Heavenly - Le Jardin de Heavenly
Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy - Hypocrisy is the Greatest Luxury

Maybe an obvious point, but looking at the hip-hop albums from the year, by 1992 you can definitely see that annoying trend of "albums are on CDs now so we have to put in a bunch of skits and things to pad them out and make them as long as possible" taking effect.

I didn't realise they'd started that early. First thing I heard would be The Dead C, I think. Then assumed it must be their first album.

I can't really claim to know that much about them, TBH.

I probably read about them in The Wire magazine in the late 90's or early 00's.

The only other album I'm vaguely familiar with is Trapdoor Fucking Exit from 1990.

More than usual of mine made it in, but still I seem to be the only fan of Welsh language Indie :(

17 - L7 - Bricks Are Heavy

Ahh L7. I don't remember the songs but I remember them properly rocking.
I lived in Wellingborough for the first two thirds of 1992. Sometimes I'd head down to London for a gig (like The Young Gods - no-one's mentioned them in 92) but Wellingborough itself was a cultural wasteland. A few of us drove over to Cambridge for the Selector once, but that was a bit of a treck.

Then L7 played in Northampton and everyone I knew in Wellingborough - the metallers, the indie kids, the weirdos - they all headed over to see them. L7 were on fire and the audience, many of whom were starved for any halfway decent bands playing nearby, was explosive. Amazing gig.

I wasn't really into this period, so I sort of bailed on it. Made a list of things nobody else would vote for.

That UFOrb is number one (ffs what?? o u guys...) says there were far too many drugs being consumed in 1992. And Knotted no, Little Fluffy Clouds is on Adventures in the Ultraworld, which is way way better. UFOrb, honestly

Thanks for the Adriana Calcanhotto recommendation. I recognise some of the songs but hadn't listened to the album before.

Body Count – Body Count
I really liked that when it came out, but Christmas eve '92 I crawled home late and a bit wrecked to my parents' house, where I was for Xmas, to find my mum had waited up to ask me where my present for my brother was. Being a terrible person I'd totally forgotten to get my brother a present. "Oh, it's in my room" I say and stagger up to my room and look around for something I can give to my brother. The first thing I notice is the Bodycount album, which I hurriedly wrap up and stumble back downstairs where I innocently present it to my mum. I've never listened to it since.

You think that's bad. ska invita is going to listen to the Rage Against The Machine album for the first time soon.

Imagine what they'll be shouting in the Post Office queue tomorrow...

Didn't get chance to make a list, but tbh, wasn't too inspired for this year.

My list would have looked a bit like Spandex's and Indeliblelink's.

My RATM review....theyre great of course, would be a show to see live, only thing is, not necessarily a criticism, but the guitar sound across the LP is not as distorted as I was expecting - quite a smooth sound all in all. Still bangs of course, especially lyrics, I guess I was just expecting a bit rawer a sound

fuck you i wont queue were you tell me

i knew a few RATM songs just never heard the album properly...;)

Strong PE Nation of Millions influence I think

I'm genuinely not sure if I've ever heard of Sugar as a band outside of this thread. Were they any good, then?
