Has Love Comes in Spurts (big plus). Doesn't have Meeting the kid with the replaceable head (big minus).

But Richard Hell. Fuck, yeah.

These are all possibles that I'm reacquainting myself with.

I wanted to be Debbie soo bad when i was 13

Unfortunately not released in 1977 - only recorded in 1977. And Blondie was released in December 1976! So no Blondie in this poll. :(

Even records I love now and didn't even realise were released in 77 in fact came out that year: Dark Magus was released in 77, To Lefty From Willie, Sandy Denny's Rendezvous.

Dark Magus! Man I wish I'd known about that record when I was an impressionable teenager. Also seconding Ornette Coleman's Dancing in your head...

The other day I was going through my hd and found some ozric tentacles albums. I just couldn't bring myself to delete them. even tho i should. never trust shit you listen to in university etc...

Anyway back to 1977. erm. Has Bootsy's Rubber Band Ahh the name is Bootsy Baby been mentioned?

The Congos - heart of the congos.

Okay Temiz first oriental wind album from 77. great turkish jazz fusion.

Struggling to find much Jazz I like released in '77. There's Roscoe Mitchell's Nonaah and good albums by Charles Tolliver and Elton Dean's Ninesense but I'm not sure I see any of them in my 10 best. Still '77 looks a good deal easier than '67. Not least since much of the most interesting stuff that year was on singles not albums so less to choose from.

Number of great disco albums of course. Do I take it the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is a compilation under the rules ???

Only hard decision is about The Clash album. Historically immensely important, loved it at the time. But I just don't care for it any more. hmmm.

No doubts about this lot though

I know what you mean, I struggled with it at first too. But then I downed a couple of Stellas and unleashed my inner 18 year old air guitar in front of mirror self and it sounded great again!

I'm afraid I might need the full 10,000 volts :) It's definitely not punk as such - it's specifically The Clash. Oh well.

Same here. Maybe should have included The Saints first album in my list, even though it didn't originally include their best song of that year - This Perfect Day. Was included on reissues though.

Never rated that Sparks album compared to their previous three tbh
