Ukraine and the Russian invasion, 2022-24

This thread isn’t about you and your feelings. It’s about people, on both sides, fighting and dying in terrible circumstances few of us can imagine.
So why make it all about me with your false accusations then? I'm simply replying to your comment on here. Am I not allowed to defend myself or address your accusations? I'd say you're also taking this thread too seriously but there you go.

This isn’t the thread for this. It’s incredibly disrespectful. I'm not going to engage on here about your issues.

(I thought you were ignoring me anyway?)

OK, so which is the thread for it then? Frankly though, the fact that these accusations keep being dug up is completely out of order. I do actually take this thread and the accusations seriously (otherwise I wouldn't have posted anything or unignored you). But I really don't see what else I can say or do about the accusations.

Bollocks you can tag and copy and paste. Go for it.
OK, I'll continue to derail this thread then. I don't know how to tag so I'll copy and paste :

"I presume your defence of the Putin regime is because it shares your long established on here anti-semitism?"

Its more the antisemitism accusation that bothers me and I've addressed it on here enough times before if you ask me, but it keeps resurfacing. I'm knackered now so I'm off to bed soon.

So why were you called anti-semitic?

Because I posted some ignorant and insensitive things about some religious jewish people without thinking clearly. I later on thought properly about what I posted and tried to explain why I did it and why I thought it was wrong. I very much regret what I posted and apologized for it, and I'm sure I've done so a number of times.

Anyway, I won't derail this thread anymore.

That's probably wise. Consider yourself on the same naughty-step as TC.

There's space for your politics all over these boards, but you've picked a topic where almost everyone, regardless of their politics, agree that Putin's campaign potentially poses an existential threat to you voicing those opinions anyway.

I find it astonishing that you and TopCat , who purport to champion the working class (as nebulous as that concept is nowadays), automatically default to "West/NATO bad - anything else good". It's just so fucking immature. Like Putin's not laying-waste to Russia's working class right now.

When "The West" fights Russia, you excuse Russia. If "The West" fought North Korea, you'd all get silly haircuts; and if "The West" fought Venus, you'd be fucking Romans.

Wank.

Neither TopCat nor AmateurAgitator (or anyone on here) has ever said "anything else good" or actually "defended putin" or anything like that though. All that's just silly projection in lieu of responding to what they have actually said. All the people doing it should be put on the naughty step.

Hail Mary:

Hail Mary full of grace the lord is with you. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary mother of god pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father:

Our father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us ou tresspass
As we forgive those who tresspass against us
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom. the power and the glory
For ever and ever
Amen.

Reports today that the Leopards are estimated to be delivered in 2-3 months and the Abrams in anything up to a year....piss poor effort. the training needed could be fullfilled in weeks yes they have complex systems but we have simulators and trainers ready, supply isnt an issue despite the excuses.

So why were you called anti-semitic?
Was it the same reason I've ben called anti-semitic?.........I.E. programmed fools who can't separate the act of criticising the cunts running Israel from being a Nazi?, despite the veil of considered and intelligent debate some try to exude there's a lot of that shitty tomfoolery in here.

I suspect that the only reason they are getting any Abrams at all is to get Germany to allow the export of Leopards. The Americans have not be that shy with supplying arms to Ukraine (it could be more), but it sounds like they have quite serious logistical concerns about how they will be supported in terms of fuel and maintenance. But as always I'd be interested in kebabking's take on that.

I'm curious about the logistics behind Ukraine operating three different kinds of tanks, on top of whatever ex-Soviet stuff they've already got. How many of the parts are interchangeable across the three? My understanding is that modern tanks, especially those in the NATO mold, require a relatively long logistical tail in order to be properly supported. The M1 Abrams guzzles fuel, how do the Leopard and Challenger compare?

I read on Twitter that the Abrams tanks have jet engines and a astronomical fuel consumption - somewhere in the region of 3 gallons to the mile whereas the Leopard tanks have diesel engines. It would seem the latter in terms of maintenance would be more sensible.
