Tory youth activists bully fellow Tory activist till he commits suicide

BBC has evidence of complaints made to Shapps at least 8 months before the party's claim that Feldman was informed.
Complaints were made against an activist in a Tory bullying scandal at least eight months before the party says it first knew of the problem, an ex-aide says.

A senior aide to ex-Tory chairman Grant Shapps says two activists complained about the behaviour of Mark Clarke.

Mr Abbott's account is significant because it appears to be at odds with the party's insistence that it only became aware of the problems around Mr Clarke when party chairman Lord Feldman received a batch of complaints in August. Lord Feldman says he had been "wholly unaware" of the allegations around Mr Clarke. The disclosures also raise awkward questions for Mr Shapps...

Ooops

Tory activist due to give sexual harassment evidence 'victim of blackmail'

A police force confirmed that it was contacted by a 19-year-old man who said he faced demands for money to stop sexually explicit images from being released on the internet. Officers have not been able to identify the alleged blackmailer, they said.

Friends of the man, who is a Tory activist, claim that the blackmail attempt from a Skype account arrived when he was due to give evidence of harassment against women by Mark Clarke, who has since been accused of bullying several male colleagues and sexually assaulting a number of female activists.

Also:

In a statement to the Guardian, Clarke said: “I welcome any police investigation into this matter. I was also targeted by this fake account while in bed with my wife, who was a witness to the attempt.

“I hope that they find the culprit and, of course in this tech-enabled age, it is relatively straightforward to prove or disprove such matters if there is a suspect.”

Nice dig at Shapps there? :D

The latest from Zelo Street.
Today’s MoS front page splash - which even got a mention on The Andy Marr Show (tm) paper review today, thanks to Paul Waugh - is suitably graphic: “THE SEX TAPE THAT SHAMES TORY PARTY” reads the headline. The article also stresses that Clarke was still behaving in his own inimitable fashion right up to September this year - right up to the moment that Elliott Johnson’s body was discovered.

Zelo Street: Tory Bullying - The Accomplices

Interestingly, there was no mention of this story on the Sunday Brilllo, which instead focused its attention on Corbyn (again).

From the same article:

'In the latest accusations, a whistleblower alleged to the Daily Mail there were concerns about Clarke going back at least seven years, which she said she had sent to the party leadership and Downing Street.

She claimed Clarke had compiled dossiers on Tory MPs after encouraging young activists to sleep with them and threatened to destroy her after she turned down an unwanted sexual advance. Clarke has claimed the latest allegations are untrue.'

Saying he's an utter scumbag doesn't come close.

You're not wrong there.
Didn't the Halfon affair come to light as a result of an attempted blackmail?

Hence posting the link at #218, which states at para 3:

Halfon confessed to the affair following reports that a Tory election aide, Mark Clarke, had planned to film him leaving the East India Club in central London with the woman concerned, a Tory activist. Clarke denies the blackmail claim.

;) :p

Yep, Clarke allegedly tried to blackmail him.
Sounds like Alexandra Paterson might well have been a victim of Clarke's campaign, then?
The vermin must be very worried about the damage he could cause...especially as it is alleged that he himself undertook affairs with "...a number of top tory women."

One of Clarke's close chums was Andre Walker, who was also stands accused of bullying Elliot Johnson. Walker was involved in a smear campaign against Alison Knight, the deputy leader of Windsor and Maidenhead Council in 2010.

Andre Walker, once considered a rising star in Conservative circles, was allegedly overheard telling a colleague that he had “injected poison” into the career of Alison Knight, deputy leader of The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Robert Bobbin, a fellow passenger on a commuter train from Waterloo last Tuesday, recorded the mobile phone conversation and placed it on the YouTube with a picture he took of Mr Walker in his seat.

The political aide to the council’s leading Conservative Party told a colleague named Phil that he was planning to oust Cllr Knight from her position as deputy leader because she had “gone bananas” about an initiative from Tory central office.

Mr Walker said the deputy leader had “kiboshed” proposals to give council residents greater influence over policy decisions which the Royal Borough had been asked to trial.

Walker was suspended from the Tory Party in September and presumably expelled at the same time as Clarke.

According to his Twitter account, Walker is currently a "lobby correspondent for @townhall.com".

Well exactly; it could be the case that the weekly Halfon stories (the affair last week, the expenses this) are being put out there in order to cover up the rest of what went on, for as long as it takes them to buy Clarke off.

Especially as the Mail appear to be playing along so assiduously with the 'sacrificial lamb' story.

Shapps has resigned from his post as bag carrier to the terminally thick Justine Greening.

Greening also has a connection to Mark Clarke with whom she was "stepping out".

I think it's also worth mentioning Aidan Burley, who was a friend of Clarke and was appointed chief executive of TURC, Burley's pet project. Burley also worked at the DoT with Greening until he resigned after the Nazi uniform affair. Burley and Clarke were also members of the Young Britons' Foundation. I reckon Burley is also involved in this somewhere along the line. He's been quiet since he left the Commons.
